Peter Obi's Appeal Dismissed By The Supreme Court by donphilopus: 12:12pm On Oct 26, 2023
The Supreme Court has dismissed Peter Obi's appeal.

Double nomination ought not to have come to this Court. The Court cannot sit and begin to explain when this man resigned and when there was a fresh Primary.

There is an end to litigation. The issue of double nomination was rested in May.

All other grounds were dealt with in the Atiku's appeal and apply to this mutantis mutandis.

This appeal lacks merit.

Where is the person that said Obi will win today.? They didn't even read one line of the appeal. Just voooom! And they threw it away. Very disgracing and embarrassing. Haha...

Labourers can now go ahead with propagandas. We are ready for them.

Labourers have yet again Laboured in vain.

And for us the Batist, if you're asked why we're not celebrating, tell them we are not noise makers, that even before the election we were quiet and working quietly. We are the silent majority.

Tell them WE ARE NOT NOISE MAKERS. WE ARE NOT EMPTY BARRELS.

I'm ashamed of the appellants.
I know their lawyers won't speak the truth to them because of money. Both Atiku and Obi should have used their discretion.

Because there is no evidence.

Obi Gbajue claimed he won an election but did not provide any result of what he got at the polls.

This election is the most freest and fairest in the history of our country since 1999.

This is one of thr first petition I’ve seen that is not based on rigging. Not based on ballot snatching but nonsense 25% Abuja vote.

So if they mistakenly move FCT to Kano tomorrow, an Ibo man that won the majority votes in the states of the federation should be denied his mandate simply because he failed to get 25% in Kano?

Also, if the Supreme Court had said 25% in Abuja is compulsory. In the next election, Hausa/Fulani people will mobilize themselves and transfer their polling unit to Abuja such that it might be hard for any candidate to have that 25% figure because that number will be split.

The Judges know what they did with Obi's petition.

Since the Atiku's 460k drug forfeiture appeal was filed through replies and not through the petition, the judges used technicality to squeeze that part of the appeal.

Obi's appeal on the drug issue was filed properly and I know they will dismiss it not to give it live or any interpretation for forfeiture.

Nigeria is a criminal state.

If you don get court case before in Nigeria, you will realized that it favors only the highest bidder means you must get better money to get justice in Nigeria. So I wasn't expecting anything

The only way to get Tinubu out was through his certificates. However, Atiku abubakar wasn't smart enough on that. Conduct that election 100 times Tinubu will win. The political odds was just in favour of him.

I hope he governs well for the good of all

Fastest appeal in the history of Nigeria.

The appellants have nothing useful to add to this court

The judge asked why was the issue of double nomination brought before this court when the issue had been settled when this case was at the pept.

Obi lawyer started looking for biro wey no lost.

I swear obi suppose arrange upper iweaka boys for that him SAN.

Be careful of what you comment here. You may be happy about the outcome of the election and these court rulings but in near future it will hunt, that's if it has not started already.

All this court ruling is a total waste of time...

The question should be, what is the way forward... how do we join hands together and fix the country?...

only a narcissist & a sociopath will claim the election was free and fair. Even external observers like the EU claimed it was a shame. however the major problem of that election was Atiku & Peter obi. All they needed to do was merge and one step down for the other. their total votes was 12m against tinubu 8m, it would have been a home run. They both denied nigerians fresh air because of ego. Naija people these politicians are all the same. If peter obi or atiku had nional interest one would have stepped down. In fact PO should have merged with Atiku and be his vice. but its too late now and PO wil not win an election in nigeria again for at least 12 years.
