'They Are Using Us To Make Money’ —Says Nigerian Soldiers

Nigerians soldiers have taken to social media to narrate the sad condition they’ve been left in, just after 100 of their colleagues were killed by Boko Haram terrorists.

While the Nigerian army, the Presidency and other media aides are yet to comment on the recent killings, however the Nigerian soldiers were heard saying that their superiors and politicians ‘were using them to make money’ in the video.

The distraught soldiers also complained about the obsolete weapons they are armed with, to fight against the insurgents who have a better weapon.

This is coming a day after a disturbing footage of an attack by Boko Haram terrorists which left many people dead, was released online. The worst losses came when the terrorists, overran a military base in the village of Metele in the north-eastern state of Borno on Sunday.


The area is the centre of an insurgency waged by Boko Haram, which was founded nine years ago to bring strict Islamic law to swaths of Nigeria, and a second newer group linked to Islamic State. Nigeria’s military and government have repeatedly said they are on the point of defeating the militants.

However, raids on military bases have continued over recent months, inflicting significant casualties. One assault on an army post on the border with Niger in September left 48 people dead.

In America, the American soldiers are being equipped with good equipments. No American soldier will fight with a 1983 /1970 equipment in 2018.
The guy in that video is not lamenting that he doesn't want to fight,he is saying the equipment a are bad.
I saw a T72 tank in that video, and I was like no way in 2018.
Can you use Nokia 3310 in 2018? That is exactly what the young, poor soldier is trying to say.

Sometimes when I hear people say they do not pity these soldiers I laugh in Swahili, they don't need your pity at all they nedd weapons to fight, all those rejoicing that BH are killing members of NA, don't be so much in a hurry to rejoice, it is because of you and I that they are dying such painful deaths.

indeed the attack was pathetic , but our soldiers also were pathetic ( 100 Armed Nigerian soldiers cannot repel even a thousand BH ?) . truth be told, what type of people are we recruiting into military ? why do they want to be in the Army, are most of them passionate about it or they are there because there is no job in the country and they want to earn a living ? is military a job or duty (sacrifice ) ? ... pls let's think properly why would 100 Armed soldiers panic and start running helter skelter and get themselves killed like bloody civilians . let's understand the root of the problem. this attack is so bitter for me bcs I lost someone who I know doesn't even have the qualities and potentials to be a soldier, buh he joins just to have people respect and now he is late.

2 different soldiers complaining on behalf of their fellow soldiers. The way they talk shows the one complaining most is Hausa and the one with the thicker voice is Yoruba.

The Federal government should stop nepotism! Why most almost all military service chiefs be from the North? What is the procurement department of the Military doing by buying obsolete arms, ammunition and equipments? What about audit department which should check purchase and also what our soldiers are going to the frontline to fight with?

What about the Defence minister? Is it that he doesn't know what his job entails?

Heads have to roll! Investigate all of them and get all that are culpable shot military style and others will sit up!!!!! Put Top calpable Yoruba and Igbo military officers as head of the Army and Air Force, overhaul the procurement, audit and welfare departments of the Military, change top military brass and let the minister of defence be punished.

Doing all the above and improving the soldiers welfare with them being provided with body armour, armour piecing ammunitions, Ak 74, more of anti aircraft guns like ones being seen to be used in syria conflict, yak jets and get more attack helicopters which fly and perform in all weather, fast, accurate, evasive to enemy fire and surveillance, configured or built to operate both night and day and they most have protection against shoulder launched air defences and armour piecing ammunitions.

The Federal government should also arrest and deal with all the politicians and people sponsoring Bokoharam.

The Federal government should go on an all out war against Bokoharam with all arms of the Military as this will crush Bokoharam in less than 2 months.

Seal the borders in the North, constantly carry out air surveillance and let the Air Force take Bokoharam fighters and sympathisers out immediately they are sported; don't ever give them room to escape or gather together! Knock them out with all that you have got even if you will increase the Nigerian fighting force fighting them by 10,000 soldiers who must be heavily armed to the teeth with advanced weapons and technology.

This rubbish just have to stop as the Nigerian Military is known to be among the best in the world, so why play with their lives and kill their high morale!

A word is enough for the wise!!!!!!!!!!!! Our Military men and women can do their job as they are very capable of doing so.
