Lol who told you it’s by queue? All my ppl here that applied for their parents to come over have gotten a response either positive or negative. Some applied 3 weeks ago. It’s way past the 38days wait time which was the expected duration as at the time I applied. Fingers crossed for next week �

My mum just got her visitor visa today. My husband and I live in Canada and we invited her to visit us as i'm having a baby soon

I stated in my invitation letter that hubby and I will be fully responsible for her financial obligations for the entire trip including flight tickets, accommodation, expenses in Canada etc

Applied - Sept 12 (paper route)
Got Visa - Oct 5

Supporting docs from my end

Invitation letter
copy of my PR card and hubby's PR card
my birth certificate
our house document (to show she has a place to stay)
my most recent tax returns
my most recent 2 months payslip
hubby's most recent 2 months payslip
employment confirmation from my manager
letter from my doctor confirming pregnancy

Supporting docs my mum added
statement of purpose (well I wrote it...telling them purpose is just to be there for the delivery and see her first grandchild)
tax receipt for her shop
her marriage certificate and my dad's passport page
my two younger brothers' birth certificate
consent letter from my dad

AND some prayers

What we used to prove ties?
Her husband and my two younger brothers (lastborn is a teenager) are still back in Nigeria
Shop tax receipt ....proving she has a business to come back to.


We didn't use any bank statement, none from her side, none from mine. I think if you have close-tie family member in canada who can provide payslips and tax returns, that seems to be acceptable with them. Last year, my younger sis had applied for study visa using my dad's bank statement with over 7M closing balance and they refused the visa stating financial blablabla. She re-applied the second time with just my payslips and tax returns and the study visa was approved.

Please which visa office did she use? Was biometrics done on that day?

I submitted my visitor visa application on Sept 17, did biometric 24, got a message on 3rd that they received application. till date, I haven't heard from embassy. Good Morning Nairalanders,

To all TRV applicants, I pray the long wait ends well. I applied for (visitor's visa) on Sept 12th via online, then found out paper route has been faster in recent months. Anxiety did set in but I managed to keep faith and praise on while waiting. My child and I got approval and I testify it happened only because God showed us Mercy and granted us Favour with the VO. I had been tempted to withdraw my application in the first week of November but I managed to keep my hope alive. Waiting is tasking on the mind,but It's advisable to distract yourself with other engagement if your time of intended travel permits you. (I, We,Us ) prayed and praised and God answered in His Mercies.

Timeline

even if you renew her passport before you submit it, as long as her visa has been approved on the old passport,: the visa duration she will be granted will be the length of validity on the passport number she used to initiate her application whose visa was approved. Say for instances the passport she used to apply will expire in 8mths time and along the line her visa got approved via online application and she now quickly renewed her passport before she sends her passport on request with the hope of having a longer passort duration in order to get a longer year visa validity; too bad applicants will only be granted 8mths visa validity based on the length of the passport whose passport number was used to initiate the application.

Please what documents am I to add to this?
Please which of the documents am I to photocopy and taken for authorization?
Where and how am I going to submit the documents?
Since am applying through paperwork an I going to book an appointment before going or I can go?
Can I do biometric the Same day?
Where can I pay for biometric and visa?
