Akwa Ibom state Governor, Deacon Udom Emmanuel renames Akwa Ibom International Airport after Obong Victor Attah, a former Governor of the state.

Governor Udom Emmanuel made this known on Saturday night.

Last night, acting on the Special Resolution by the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, I renamed the Akwa Ibom International Airport to Obong ( Arc) Victor Attah International Airport, to honour him at 80.

This action was sequel to the resolution of Akwa Ibom House of Assembly

Deacon Udom Emmanuel has shown commitment to the advancement of Akwa Ibom state

The decision to rename the airport is also in line with the wishes of the people of Akwa Ibom state

In case you don't know. the Airport project was started by Attah, and all 3 Governors (Attah, Akpabio and Udom) have signature in it.

Nothing and nobody can stop Udom till 2023. Akwa Abasi Ibom is for Udom. Uyo will take over in 2023

What is going on here?!

Akwa ibom seems very different from other South South, South East States. They are blessed with very progressive leaders(even if they also steal abit ). The only state that makes good use of its 13% derivatives and High monthly allocation. Why some scream marginalization because they don't have functional international airport or seaport. Their governors didn't sulk, rather they built it, The state with a state government owned 5star hotel just like Lagos state

That ex- governor who achieved nothing than building for us a plaza and God knows inches television for eight years rule don't deserve this honor

I remember how a divorced Indian woman resident in London, through her ex-lawyer hubby, became very rich from the loot this Attah, Tinubu and Ibori diverted to the UK from their various states. I think they called that company they set up “ADFI“.

even if it was done to spite Akpabio, its fair, after all Akpabio betrayed his own people by decamping to APC allegedly after huge financial inducement just so he can destabilize the peaceful government of Gov Udom Emmanuel in Akwa Ibom state
