hacking is not about using a terminal or being trained. In fact being trained will be a disadvantage to you in the future cos all companies will have in-house system admins who had the same training as you so they will know you think and what tools you will likely use.


Now hacking is about your way of thinking. A 12 year old who is very creative and likes finding new ways of doing things can be a better hacker than you even with no knowledge of programming or how to use the terminal. A doctor who likes to find his own method of doing things can be a better hacker than someone who is a "trained" hacker. If someone like Ben Carson for instance develops interest in hacking he will be a better hacker than someone one went to training without this mentality. Why, because his brain has been trained to find "novel" solution to difficult problems. I also believe he has this kind of thinking because i read his book where he talked about discovering a new way of doing a surgery while still in school.

So forget that box you put hackers in about using a terminal.
