op do the Canadian Employer also consider USA Certificate to land one a good job Thanks
atutupoyoyo2211:
A 27 year is still young, cos i am older than that but i have stated a master's degree. I was once shortlisted for a job that pays $90 an hour, but i didnt get it because i had no masters degree and the recruitment team let me know. That was why i immediately enrolled for a masters degree. Having a kid is no problem at all because the government will even help you out until you get a job. Its an organized society here. This is the way Canada society works, or i think so. If you possess a lot of degrees from outside the country, thay may not matter until you get even one degree from Canada. It can be a diploma, BSc PGD or masters degree, but just get something from here and you are good to go

Well, I thnk it will be more acceptable than other countries maybe. But if you do have a first class from any good university in the world, i think that will also be highly considered

I feel you! As someone who also moved here two years ago and worked in a warehouse, nursing home and finally by God's grace alone a good job after graduation, I know firsthand how diffivult it is to save. But one thing I know is for one to be successful in savings, they have to avoid having numerous CREDIT CARDS. Credit cards carry monthly gbese and its very frustrating. Avoiding car loans, any financing or impulse buying also helps. I'm in the US but hopefully I'll come and collect Canada breeze someday cheesy cheesy cheesy

I made $3572 before taxes in the last 2 weeks. After tax, i was paid $2809. Out of this i saved about $2400. The rest of the savings came from an extra job i did sometime ago and a debt i was owed by a friend. The reason why i am this elaborate with these figures is to disuade that notion that because of taxes or bills, one can not make a decent income and still save, and it encourages my to push on. I am also supporting my wife and we both decided she enrol in school full time for her masters degree. So she doesn't work for now. but she will start a part time job soon at my place of work. If you are willing to work hard, you can succeed. I will be moving to a house closer to my work place in the next few weeks, just a 12 minutes drive. This means i will start getting a full 7 hours sleep, which is nice.

Generally people like to mind their business, but if you are a friendly person, you can make friends. If you are not friendly, you actually dont make enemies, just that you would be by yourself, which is generally normal here, but not in all environments. I once left a job because they said i wasn't not interacting with everyone in office. There were not entirely wrong, but i tried my best in communication. I later found out that the people who complained where the 2 guys who were gay that worked with me. I have nothing against anyone's sexual preference but it was just very difficult for me to maintain a discussion with them because of their line of discussion.

Don't know what you mean by heavily. However, you do not need to work crazy hours If you have say a bsc in electrical from Canada or the US, canada preferably, and you are lucky to get a job after grad. Your average starting wage would be around $35 an hour. As you rise through the rank and put in years of experience, it would go up to the of $43 to $46/hr, and when you start hiting a managerial position, it can go as high as $50 to $70/hour or more based on type of employer or where you work in the country.
please i stand to be corrected i heard blacks don't hold managerial posts in Canada irrespective of his/her qualifications

Yeah, the one problem with the LGBT community is they always feel offended if someone decides to stay on his own in terms of personal discussion & respect their privacy, they want you to be involved in theirs.

Imagine doing an interview with ThoughtWorks & they are asking me how I would feel if my Co-workers are LGBT.
I'm not bothered, whats my own, let them stay on their own & I'll respect their privacy. The interviewer was not happy with that response. Well they can go Fvck themselves.

Not necessarily. My former colleague in Nigeria who came to Canada 3 years before i did is a manager at one of BC's government agencies, and he has only being in Canada for 5 years. Though he has about 15 years of experience in Nigeria and guess what, they refused to make him even a supervisor or team lead in Nigeria because of "man know man" syndrome. Well, the guy earns about $109,000 a year now compared to the 435,000 naira he earned in Nigeria.

Well, i wont say no or yes, i think is more about if you can land an interview. What you can do is not to put the country you earned the degree in your resume then go to the interview and impress them, at that point i dont think they would really bother about your degree. But, do not lie about the country you obtained you degree if you are asked.

Will my electrical/electronics degree here in Nigeria be recognised there in Canada? What job level can it get me?
I have been thinking about moving there. Working and studying Master's degree.
