A 27 year is still young, cos i am older than that but i have stated a master's degree. I was once shortlisted for a job that pays $90 an hour, but i didnt get it because i had no masters degree and the recruitment team let me know. That was why i immediately enrolled for a masters degree. Having a kid is no problem at all because the government will even help you out until you get a job. Its an organized society here. This is the way Canada society works, or i think so. If you possess a lot of degrees from outside the country, thay may not matter until you get even one degree from Canada. It can be a diploma, BSc PGD or masters degree, but just get something from here and you are good to go

That's $24 hourly.
I get overtime sometimes.

I made $3572 before taxes in the last 2 weeks. After tax, i was paid $2809. Out of this i saved about $2400. The rest of the savings came from an extra job i did sometime ago and a debt i was owed by a friend. The reason why i am this elaborate with these figures is to disuade that notion that because of taxes or bills, one can not make a decent income and still save, and it encourages my to push on. I am also supporting my wife and we both decided she enrol in school full time for her masters degree. So she doesn't work for now. but she will start a part time job soon at my place of work. If you are willing to work hard, you can succeed. I will be moving to a house closer to my work place in the next few weeks, just a 12 minutes drive. This means i will start getting a full 7 hours sleep, which is nice.

Don't know what you mean by heavily. However, you do not need to work crazy hours If you have say a bsc in electrical from Canada or the US, canada preferably, and you are lucky to get a job after grad. Your average starting wage would be around $35 an hour. As you rise through the rank and put in years of experience, it would go up to the of $43 to $46/hr, and when you start hiting a managerial position, it can go as high as $50 to $70/hour or more based on type of employer or where you work in the country.

Generally people like to mind their business, but if you are a friendly person, you can make friends. If you are not friendly, you actually dont make enemies, just that you would be by yourself, which is generally normal here, but not in all environments. I once left a job because they said i wasn't not interacting with everyone in office. There were not entirely wrong, but i tried my best in communication. I later found out that the people who complained where the 2 guys who were gay that worked with me. I have nothing against anyone's sexual preference but it was just very difficult for me to maintain a discussion with them because of their line of discussion.
