The National Chairman of the PDP, Prince Uche Secondus, has said the party will not accept any result of the 2019 general elections that is “fake.”

Prince Secondus also, for the third time, demanded the resignation of the Chairman of INEC, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, and the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Ibrahim Idris, saying they had demonstrated that they could not be neutral in the electioneering process.

Speaking at the opening session of the 83rd National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of the PDP yesterday in Abuja, Secondus said there would be crisis in the land if the elections were rigged by the ruling APC in connivance with INEC officials.

Secondus said the PDP had the best presidential candidate for the elections and would resist any attempt to be rigged out.

“We want to give this warning because we want peace in our nation. We are not going to make noise; but if anyone or the APC rigs the elections, there will be crisis in the country and we will not accept the result of the rigged elections.

“The APC has the federal might, but we have God and the people on our side. We have the best candidate in the country and he is ready to debate with Buhari.

“The consequences of rigging the 2019 general elections will be terrible; so well-meaning Nigerians and the international community should prevail on INEC to conduct free, fair and transparent elections,” Secondus said.

He advised all party leaders to return to their various constituencies and campaign vigorously for the PDP to win, saying the party had a campaign structure to ensure that power was devolved to the grassroots where the voters would cast their votes.

Secondus said the President Buhari-led administration lacked the wherewithal to manage the affairs of the nation, adding that the PDP was upping its game to reclaim power through democratic means.

The presidential candidate of the PDP, Atiku Abubakar, and his running mate, Peter Obi, Governors Ifeanyi Okowa (Delta) Ahmed Abdulfattah (Kwara), Dave Umahi (Ebonyi), Senate President, Bukola Saraki, Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, former governors of Benue and Niger, Gabriel Suswam and Babangida Aliyu respectively, were among many party leaders at the meeting.

It is only PDP that knows what fake results are. The Chairman is already accepting defeats in advance.

Like dogs in a wheel, birds in a cage, or squirrels in a chain, ambitious men still climb and climb, with great labor, and incessant anxiety, but never reach the top.

True talk. Any form of rigging will put Nigeria in terrible circumstances we may not be able to get out of quickly.

If you ask me, positions like INEC chairman should be the prerogative of the masses, who would agree either through vote or general consensus who they want as chairman.

It is quite funny and ridiculous to think that an incumbent president would appoint a chairman who would not work in his favor. Hence that power of appointing the leader of an electoral body should not rest in his hands.

Only GEJ was transparent enough to let the natural rite of things flow.

Uche Secondus is mad, oh my God! How do we find ourselves in this precarious situation? How could National Chairman of a party speak in unguided manners? You want to bring Nigeria into crisis? God forbids. You and your family are secure but the gullible ones will support Bihari, Atiku and your likes with their blood. Too bad
