I once forgot my wallet at home, that day I turn humble guy towards conductor

mine happen when I was still schooling in Delsu oleh campus..then there was no atm in oleh,we have to go to ozoro to withdraw cash..
This very friday after EMA class I use my last 50 card to join a bus to ozoro..getting to the bank,the atm just stop dispensing and people are waiting for the bank staff to load the machine..That's how I joined them to wait.
Waited from 2 to 5pm,before they load the machine..when it got to my turn to withdraw,I brought out my wallet to bring out my atm but all I could see is my sch I.d, S.P.E I.d card and my voters card..I almost fainted..
I would have joined a bike home and collect money from my guys in the hostel to pay but most guys have traveled for weekend,we are few and all of us are broke,must are even waiting for me to cook soup.
I just zero my mind and trek from ozoro to oleh with help of my BlackBerry and my ear pies..I played eminem songs all through.

I was at the Quora meetup in November 2017.
When I was leaving, asides the money for going to LCC, Lekki where the meetup was meant to hold, I held my white access bank ATM card.

I was glad that I was finally going to meet Quorans. We met and talked about a lot of things. Soon it was time to go home, I needed to withdraw the money I was to use to go home. I brought out my ATM card to realize that I took my hostel ID card which was also white in colour. The realization dawned on me when I realized what happened. I needed to go from Lekki to Ikotun and I had #200 with me.

I sharply stick with one of the Quorans jejely hoping he paid for my transport. He paid for the transport up to a certain bus stop. Still money no complete. I sha was able to find my way to a family friend at Bariga with the exact #200 with me.

Back in 2003 when i first got admission into the university, having done my registration i needed to go back home. Home was Aba and i was to travel from Enugu but then at the park i found out i had incomplete t-fare. It just remained about #200 but unfortunately no one i explained to was able to help out and it was nearing 7pm. Luck was on my side, i ran into an old classmate who was equally travelling my destination, he completed my fare. I cant forget that experience.

I have had a number of close shaves but God had always intervened and made ways where all appeared bleak.

Many years ago as a student of Unizik Awka, i discovered that during vacation, students travelling to lagos didnt take buses directly from unizik junction to lagos. Rather they travelled all the way down to Asaba toll gate to board buses to lagos for between 500-1000 naira.

I was elated at this discovery and decided to try it out next vacation. Vacation came, nigga was already broke, had about 1400 naira on me home and abroad. So i took a bus 100 naira to onitsha from awka, took another bus 70 naira to asaba toll gate. And had 1230 left with me. I was lucky to get a bus going to lagos for 1000. I made sure i asked the driver if he would get to mile 2, cos my home was a walking distance from there. Driver said his last bus stop was mile 2. I paid and relaxed. Bought a plastic bottle of pepsi for 100 and one gala 50 naira. Money remaining on me was 80 naira

Brothers and sisters behold we got to ojota and the driver said everyone should get down that he had arrived his last destination. No amount of arguement or begging could change his mind, everyone climbed down including me. i walked to the roadside and stopped a bus going to mile 2, but because it was very late at night and it was rush hour too, the drivers said mile 2 was 250, and i had only 80 naira left on me. so i started to trek. i trekked from ojota to Anthony bustop that night. over 2 hours trekking. when i got to Anthony, i couldn't continue again. then i flagged another bus down, he said, mile 2 was 150, and I asked him what about orile, he said orile 100 naira. i begged him to carry me for 80 naira to orile so i can continue my trekking to mile 2 from orile. the conductor agreed and they carried me to orile. getting to orile it was already past 11pm, then i started my second phase of trekking to mile 2.

Along the way my sandals cut, and i brought my travelling bag down to change to shoes and continue my trekking. last last i got home before 12 midnight with my two legs shaking like i was subjected to a 'pickpin' style punishment.

P.S: As little as 200 naira was, i couldn't bring myslf to beg people for money that night

So many experiences - I don't know which is worst- but let me pick or say one which everyone can relate to, it's not the worst but tolerable - in 2002 or 2003, I traveled by night bus from abuja to come for an interview in lagos - Victoria island, I only had 10k or so in my account, I went to the bank immediately withdrew some money, and I headed to boarded a night bus to lagos. I got to lagos went for the interview after the interview I was to head back to abuja, by the same night bus- so I checked my pocket - I had only 2k, the bus fare to get to the island then was more expensive then I envisaged, not minding the fact that's I grew up in lagos, I got the fare calculation wrong - so I went to UBA can't remember the branch now, withdrew 2.6k all I had left in the account, and headed for the bus terminal only for me to get their and not find the 2.6k I withdrew- how do I get back to abuja after queuing - so I stepped aside at the cashier front and started begging- it was one good Samaritan that gave me the balance- if not, how I go come return home- and the interview sef them no pick me join

WAS FUCKING THIS PRETTY GIRL I MET AT BADOO AND WHEN I WAS ABOUT TO CUM WHEN HER PHONE RANG . SHE PICKED WAS TOLD HER MUM WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT. SHE SCREAMED AND LEFT THE HOTEL HENCE LEAVING ME IN SUCH A TERRIBLE CONDITION. I WAS SO UNCOMFORTABLE THROUGHOUT THE NIGHT COZ MASTURBATION WASN'T AN OPTION FOR ME. SINCE THEN ONCE I CARRY ANY GIRL TO MY HOTEL ROOM, I ALWAYS REQUEST HER PHONE TO BE SWITCHED OFF TO AVOID STORIES THAT TOUCHES THE HEART

It will be unfortunate if a crime was to happen in that same campus, when the security officials see you without your ID and you wanto feed them that story. Sorry, nobody will believe you, even you will not believe you

Went for an interview somewhere in Maryland had no money to get home so I decided to trek ( to ikotun) and on my way home that hot afternoon I wanted to jump over a gutter and praaaa!! My trousers tour parallely apart. Wasn't wearing a boxer but a white men's pantie . with the hunger and thirst in me I had to pretend to be a mentally unstable guy to be able to get arms. Since then I don't angage in castigating fake beggars.

I went for a church program(Koinonia) at Zaria and we finished by 11pm. My friend told me that one of the students of ABU dropped his house key for him so we can save our hotel bill. After the church program, my guy forgot the road that leads to the house and the house even. We trecked the whole of Samaru till about 1am and no way to locate the house.
We went back to all the hotels that night and no room left. One spirit told me to go to ABU and tell them we want to read. On getting there, they allowed us in but no flat chair in the halls as all the chairs were single seater in rows. We managed to sleep on it like that. Mosquito that bite me that night has never bite me all my life.

I know a young guy and an old man at cms bus terminal. They come everyday at different time(I bet they do not know each other sef) they come to the park with few naira notes, whispering to every passenger how they just got stranded and need an additional cash for tfare.

I can relate to this, the only Monet I had I paid the bike man then bought ice cream with the change, stood in line for like 40mins due to those I was here first, Im de back, I de in back people, finally my turn came, I chook hand for back pocket wetin I see na departmental I.d card , I search myself well again, they come de ask me wetin de sup, I say I forget ATM them begin laugh, and the worst part I left my phone at home charging so I no fit transfer money to anybody make them help withdraw or something like that, na I first enter inside the bank make ac cool my head before I begin the journey of a thousand miles back home.

The first one I can remember happened when I was in Secondary School

I was going home from hostel to Lagos, I knew before hand the total fare from Shagamu to Lagos so I used the extra money on Mii to eat snacks in the bus from Shagamu to Ikorodu.

On getting to Ikorodu, it had rained and the fares had increased from Ikorodu to Idumota

I had to walk from from Ikorodu to Agric then board a bus from there to K2 then trekked from K2 to Anthony busstop then took a bus from there to Idumota then trek home.

After that experience, I always make sure I have more than enuff money on Mii when commuting anywhere in Nigeria most especially Lasgidi


I was stranded again some months back

I was coming back from work and I had to go to a FedEx facility to receive a package I ordered from Amazon.

I got to the place and I couldn’t get the package because I didn’t have my ID on Mii and to make matters worse my phone died and I couldn’t either call Uber or check the nearest busstop to my location or when the bus will come.

I wanted to buy charger but nowhere to buy from and no one to borrow from either.

I later found my way to a busstop and had to wait there for like an hour before the bus showed up and I had to beg the bus driver again because I had no cash on Mii to pay the bus fare because I use electronic bus pass which is on my dead phone

The church should have been a sanctuary at the time. But then again, like I said, even the church security guard might not trust you enough. If Nigeria was a safe place, you could have hitchhicked with an interstate truck driver but Nigeria don too cast to dey do all those kind things.

I once tried sleeping at one church on the fateful night that I was stranded.No thanks to the gateman that turned me down.I finally made it to my destination that night.

Was coming back from work 3 years ago, stopped at Oshodi under bridge to get BRT. When it was time to pay, I discovered that Oshodi boys have done their work, no wallet, one of my phones was gone and I didn't even know. Thank God my main phone was in my front pocket.

No money, no ATM card nothing... My eye red.

Begged like two persons to help me with #200 while I transfer #1,000 from my bank app, the refused. Very embarrassing.

Finally a good guy paid my fare home. Tried to get his number but he refused. The guy refused a payback.

Mehn that day was hell.

I had a similar experience over 10 years ago,my elder sister just got married then, so I went to her place the fare to her place was just #10 @ the time.

The trousers I wore earlier that morning was where the #10 was which happened to be the last card on me so after taking my bath I put on another trousers & forgot to transfer the money into the new trousers.

I boarded a danfo(bus) so when it was time to pay na so I no see money o! So i told the driver,it was one jobless guy sitting in the front beside the driver that put mouth in what did not concern him he said the

conductor should collect one of my slippers,while standing at the bus stop looking so confused &

embarrassed at the same time,a guy standing at the bus stop just told the conductor to leave me, that was how he paid my fare.

While I was trying to explain to him what happened he said I shouldn't bother that he understands.

Mine are numerous,but God has always sent helpers to me.

Ok two weeks back my sis called me on some promo shii and told me it's good money.....didn't even take my bath off I went from OJO to Ogba....after everything I figured I had to get to mushin from ogba and I ain't got my ATM with me....didn't even shake...I just got a maruwa from ogba to ikeja along(along the way I was contemplating which format to give the guy)when we got down and the other people paid I just walked up to him and say, "baba abeg me I no get bah ooo,if you wan beat me kindly start asap cuz I go still chop cane for oshodi and mushin"...he laughed and said "cane bawo,I thanked him,shaked him and proceeded to the next busstop...I crossed and waited to see any sure boy,I saw one nigger entered a bus,I followed him straight up...I typed on my phone "bro I no get bah ooo,make you bail me out .....gave him my phone and he reads it and said no problem..( I gave him a thumbs up...OG)...got to mushin flagged a bike asap and got home.....

I expected nothing less.... because I myself is a sure boy....don't say much,don't beg,don't cry or fear or anything...just approach me and tell me what's up and I'd do the needful and if I can't I'd just tell you how sorry I am....I don't care if you are a scammer or whatever,that's your problem....

The day I went for my first interview. (The original shoe I bought for 18k).

As I alighted from the bus,i went straight to a roadside clobber, I told him I have an interview and he should hurry with polishing my shoe. He told me to sit down and he took my shoes to get polish along with him. I waited and waited on him but he didn't come back with my shoe. It was already 9pm and I was called that it's time, that I should step in but I told them my plight. They adjusted my interview to 10 am. I waited but that idiot clobber didn't return. I was confused , so i decided to knock at someone's gate closer to me. An old man opened the gate and asked who I was looking for?, I gave him straight answer and I told him my plight that he should lend me one of his shoes, He said he doesn't have. It was 10:30, they called and said they will postpone mine.

I finally saw one young guy and I explained to him,he gave me his and I put it on, and headed for my interview despite the postponement.


I finally got there by 12:23 pm and guess what?

I will never agree, I once came to Lagos for interview from pH, I met people all the way from kano, most were work in but looking for better alternative, thank God some of us get better craze for head, after the yeye test, motivational jagons then came the we have to pay for license, that's where one guy from kano said so u invite me all the way from kano to come n sell drugs in Lagos walahi you must pay me my transport to n fro, I ginger some guys ginger as well, initially they said they will get back to the guy, the guy refused, I ginger the guy again some guys began to leave, they wanted to use force but we were many urging him no to back down, trouble escalated when 1 of the gnld guys heard me calling soldiers from Ikeja cantonment, they quickly called d 2 of us in n gave us 10k each, we spoke in Hausa it wasn't enough, the guy broke a glass jar in d managers office n demanded 30k they eventually begs us with #15k each, they exited us through the back door but we came back to the gate to tell others we have being settled, those guys turned the place upside down , I heard the manager n one top madam escaped while their foot soldiers received some beatings.

So many times.

It made me believe in the saying the way you dress determines how you're addressed. If you dress well like a responsible human being, when you're stranded like that, people will wait and listen to your story and eventually render help.

But if you dress like a tout or like a "big boy" , O.Y.O na your case. Nobody go wait for you.

Just had to share this one.

I was going from Abj to PH, a friend just came into the country and we decided to leave for PH together. Ordinarily we would have taken a flight, but my friend had a lot of luggage and would be excess luggage to the tune of almost N100k or more so we decided to take a buss instead.

The bus didn't leave until 11am, around 10pm the bus got to somewhere around the east and the driver said he can't continue the journey and we should spend the night in an hotel. I asked the driver how far Owerri is from where we are and he said 30mins, I have a female friend in Owerri and I thought if I am going to spend the night out I best make it worthwhile.

So I helped my friend to an hotel, look a bus going to Owerri and jumped on it. We got to a place called "no man's land" and armed robbers attacked our bus, they threw a log in front of our bus, and the driver manage to escape by reversing in speed, we went back to a checkpoint, and the police fired some shots and asked us to continue that the robbers would have run away.

We finally got to Owerri but I dropped off at the wrong location from where my friend asked me to, I tried getting direction but seems no one I met speaks English, they were all speaking Igbo, I couldn't give my location to my friend, while there a police van approached me and told me where I am is very dangerous, looks I think is very important, cause based on my appearance they offered to keep me safe till my friend comes to pick me, they spoke with her on phone and told her where I am and she came to pick me up. Got to her place around 2am. And boy was it worth it!!!!

Since then if i dey stranded i dey carry Lagos boy were enter bus nio..

It was a terrific day. Then I was still serving so I went for my cds at Ikeja secretariat as usual, I left the house with just 1k getting to Ikeja I was left with Just N400 then I bought food with the remaining change with the hope that I will withdraw from the ATM when we are through with CDS...we were released to go home as early as 12am that day and I stepped out to get a bank to withdraw some cash and go home. Too bad for me First bank ATM service was bad.,it wasn't despensing I Walk to almost every bank at Ikeja that day but no luck, I was so tired that I couldn't even buy just N50 bottle water to drink, to worsen the whole Situation I had a flat ba3 I couldn't contact anyone to come to my aid and meet me up, I was down,weak and Frustrated,. I was there till past 6 b4 first bank arm started working that I was able to withdraw,i was so happy I was too weak to take a bus I just took a taxi and head home straight, go home around 8pm I couldn't take dinner I just slept off immediately. It was indeed and eventful day for me

I had this experience on Wednesday, I went to collect some stuffs sent to me in Ojoo, Ibadan, then I lost my wallet, I had to trek back home (Agbaje/Ijokodo) since I'm too shy to ask for help, I started the stopwatch and it took me three hours to get back home
