Hello Please
am about applying soon but i want to know if i should make payment for the Conference first .. Pls Should i Make the Payment for Conference before Applying and also to book the Hotel Reservation with Flight ticket ??
need advise

You may need yo pay for the conference and include the evidence of registration/conference invitation letter to the application to show evidence of registration/purpose of visit.

You need to also provide evidence of accommodation hence the hotel reservation. You can make hotel reservation and not necessarily make payment. Go online and book for hotel

You can also do flight reservation and not make paymenthe. Then you submit all these documents in ur application.

All the best

Hello everyone
Please, what documents do I need to send if my sister in Canada is gonna sponsor the visit. Do I still need to provide my own account details?
Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by fcisca: 3:05pm On Nov 30, 2018
If the organizers are willing to issue you conference invitations letters without payment, you may not make payment.
You should make an accommodation booking though. Booking.com allows you to make accommodation booking without payment. I didn't submit flight booking with my most recent application and it was approved.

Yes. Especially if you are applying for a visiting visa. You need to show that you qualify for a on your own merit, so having a good financial standing in your home country would certainly help your application.
If I may ask, why is your sister sponsoring you though? Not that it is a crime, but the VO would be more inclined to approve if you could demonstrate some sort of financial independence, good job, family, etc as part of home country ties.
All the best in your application.

Thank you very much.
I have a job but I'm not financially stable yet, my sister just wants me to visit for a few months and I'll indicate that the visit is sponsored and submit my sister's account statement . Do I still need to submit my account statement even though, I have close to nothing in the account?

Good day everyone
I want submit my application for TRV next week but ill also need my international passport towards January ending. How long will I be able to hold on to my passport if I do online application?
Also, if application is eventually approved and I submit my passport, how long is it likely to take before I get my passport back
Once your visa is approved, you’ll be given 30days to submit your passport. The “stamping process” takes 2-7days acccording to VFS. You best bet will be online application.

If you can get the conference invitation without paying that will be your best bet. Just book flight and hotel on hold, don’t pay till your application is approved.

@everyone @adiahabasi @smileymum

Please I will appreciate if you can respond as we are in similar situation.

We just got our COPR and will land early January.

I want my mum to accompany us to help settle as I have kids and expecting another.

Even if she cant land with us, I want her around for Omugwo in March.

Please what documents should we subbmit.

Should we go the paper or online route.

Please help a sister.

Thank you.

She has no travel history and does not work.

Please what document should we submit
A detailed but clear letter of invitation stating that you’ll want her to land with you to make settling easy and assist with your baby.
If married, she can attach a copy of her marriage certificate, if she has kids younger than 18 add that as well, properties or land in her name. State that you’ll fully sponsor her. You’ll attach a copy of your COPR, and your bank statement ...Paper application seems a bit faster than online, but I’ve also seen people that applied online (no travel history) in October and have gotten their visas.

Thank you darling.
So we do not need to submit our current Nigerian payslips or employment letter?
I have resigned but hunny hasn't resigned yet.

Hmmmmmm. shocked shocked "...got a call from the conference planner about payment..." that is a red flag comrade. Be sure that these organizers are genuinely promoting research and not some money/visa mills that are already known to and flagged by the embassy. Also be sure of their refund policy as well. All the best

Pls what can one use as proof of ties to country apart from job, land, business and property? When someone with a great job earning like 700k a month gets a refusal with employment prospects, what could be the problem? Can TRV be applied for underage children under 16 without an accompanying adult application?

Prior refusals, purpose of visit not strong or well laid out enough, being single,no/limited travel history, prior history of overstaying etc, could even be that the particular agent was in a bad mood while going through the case who knows?. No idea about visas for minors

Great People, I was a little shocked to see that we hadn't reached the required 500 votes. Please we need your help to further our dreams too. There is something awfully wrong at the Accra Visa Office. We have applications nearing and over one year pending. No communication. Several GCMS notes show same update as 6 months ago. Imagine how we feel, cannot even follow most discussions here, as we're certainly not on the same path. Please lend your voice to fight our cause. We need 500 votes.

Good evening house,

Thank you for your more than insightful posts.
Pardon me if concerns I’m raising below have been addressed earlier.

1. I intend applying via paper route on 2nd jan 2019. Reason I ll be stating will be for an examination in June 2019 (which I filled out for in sept 2018). I have a friend there who is willing to send me an invitation letter.
My main aim of this visa application is to use it later in 2019 or maybe 2020 for child birth as I will not be going for the exam. At the moment and most likely at point of application, I won’t be pregnant
The exam will just be a hoax but I definitely will be paying my hospital bills when and if it comes through.

Has anyone in recent times used a visiting visa for child birth? If yes, how did you handle it?

2. Do I need to attach a flight itinerary given that my “exam” is quite far away?

I would really appreciate responses from the gurus in the house.

Dear NLs, I HAVE AN INVITATION TO ATTEND A CONFERENCE/WORKSHOP IN CANADA WHERE I AM EXPECTED TO PRESENT A PAPER ON MY RESEARCH FINDINGS THAT HAS BEEN PUBLISHED WITH A REPUTABLE JOURNAL. THE QUESTION I WANT TO ASK THE HOUSE ARE;
1) I DON'T HAVE TRAVEL HISTORY SO DO I HAVE A CHANCE OF BEING ISSUED A VISITOR VISA?
2) I HAVE AN M.Sc AND EARN ABOUT 160K PER MONTH, CAN THIS ALSO HELP?
3) MY IMMEDIATE ELDER BROTHER DECIDED TO BE MY SPONSOR WITH AN ACCOUNT BALANCE OF N22,000,000. CAN THIS BE AND ADDED ADVANTAGE?
4) I HAVE FAMILY TIES. ie I AM MARRIED WITH 3 KIDS. CAN THIS BE AN ADDED ADVANTAGE ?

HOWEVER, MY EMPLOYER HAS ALREADY ISSUED ME A LEAVE LETTER THAT WILL COVER THE PERIOD OF THE WORKSHOP.

SO HOUSE WITHOUT A TRAVEL HISTORY DO YOU THINK I STAND A CHANCE OF GETTING THE VISA ? .
I ALSO INTEND TO COME BACK AFTER THE CONFERENCE BECAUSE I AM THINKING OF STARTING MY PhD HERE IN UNILAG AND STAY CLOSE TO MY FAMILY.

In addition to above enquiry, my account name is still in my maiden name and but my Int.passport is changed already to that if my husband’s. I don’t intend changing my banking details for the visa purpose. I hope this will also not pose a challenge.

Hello house, someone should help me with the link to check the status for my online Canada application, I couldn't access the mail used by my agent for the application, and I just received a mail that I have a new message in my application account, that I should sign in to access the messages.

Please, is there a link to check the update/tracking.

Thanks.
