No matter what y'all say, I'm proud of the Super Falcons. No preparations or support. Practically paid and struggled their way to Ghana. Lost to SA first match but didn't despair. Went on to win the final. It wasn't fancy. It wasn't smooth but it's what champions do; Win!

Congratulations to the super falcons. However, we need to do more if we want to go far in the world cup. I don't seem to like the tactics of this 'oyinbo' coach. I hope he will up his game or else other African teams may even do better than Nigeria in the world cup. The preparation for world cup should start now. I'm not comfortable with this oyinbo coach taking us to the world cup though.

The midfield and attack needs to be revamped, Okokbi can't be the only attacking midfielder, the coach needs to find an additional player to help her in that position and our attack can't depend solely on Oshoala.

11.

The reason for this confusion is very simple. The first two editions (1991 and 1995) were played in a home and away format and the winner qualified for the World Cup.

It was only in 1998 that the present format (a Nations Cup/World Cup type of format) was used. There was a single host nation (Nigeria) and it mirrored the men's Cup of Nations.

Some people do not consider the first two editions as part of the AWCON championship. They see it as world cup qualifiers.

Nigeria has won it 9 times in the present format and 11 times overall.

No no no. Are these the only footballers we have? I am in SA and I saw how SAFA with sponsorship from SASOL(NNPC equivalent) steadily invested in their female soccer. See the result. These girls will beat us next time if we do not replace these aging players with new ones.
Which results they were lucky they played Mali in semis. Cameroon will dismantle them any day any time
