Firearm licenses in Nigeria are not issued for self-defense. They are issued for sporting purposes i.e hunting game (or gaming). Even at that, licenses have limits to which they can be applied. Someone of intemperate manners who threatens to shoot people at the slightest provocation is irresponsible ownership and is grounds for having a firearm license withdrawn.

If having it in his car is right under the law then it's wrong. Unless of course the gun belongs to one of or other occupants in the car with him who are his body guard(s) licensed to carry firearms too.
