New appointment of a Commander to fight the said boko haram is not the issue at all. Are there up-to-date weapons/equipment to fight with? Equip your men and stop giving boko haram an upper hand over the Nigerian soldiers we know as combatant.

stop this attitude of requesting sacking of this or that probably because they are not your tribe. Slow and steady wins the race. If a new service chiefs are appointed, it is a big risk, they will take time to settle down, the progress made could be improved upon at the same time it could slip, if it slips, it will be more sucidal for the country. Overnight victory can't be achieved over terrorist group so also overnight economy recovery and infrastructures fixing can't be achieved in less than 4 years of an administration.

The NDA was like A/L then. After the exams U will be shortlisted from your state . The exam like JAMB then. Even if U get cut off marks it is not a gurranttee that U will get admission. After the exam in 1980, only five were given final admission to proceed to the NDA to start the training that qualified them as second lieutenant. Those five selected from Oyo state were highly and powerfully connected. This scenario is still operating till today. How Nigeria is going to be free from this ,only God knows. The best candidates are always deprived of reaching pinnacle of what they want to do in life. Too much of whom do U know before U get a post. Thank God .Ko si eniti olorun gbagbe re. Then they are still BRIG GENS AND MAJ GEN S !!!HELL No sir, something must be wrong here.you can't start force inthe 80's and still remain there now. THE 79 NA are all out of the system!The 63 NA (in which my Dad belongs too left some 12- 17 yes agotoo. Out first son joined the NA cadet around 1989 and today he is Man Gen .But for 1980 ,(and he is 49. Now).But for a 1980 regular,lots of have left the barracks save very few like uncle Buratai who were politically filled left in the system due to the rots in the system

What's my business with tribe? I am speaking as a Nigerian. Even the tribe that has more retired generals are not more prosperous than my tribe. Stop deceiving yourself. Even if you give Buhari 100yrs Nigeria will still remain the same.

Thanks my son . I don't know what is operating now. I sat for the exams in 1980 at alamala barrack in Abeokuta ,Ogun State. Shortlisted due to my high scored then. We did the interview and only five were shortlisted. I don't have the idea If they are still in service. My belief is that if they are still around , they will be nothing less than Major General. The Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Tukur Buratai, has appointed new commanders for Operation Lafiya Dole, the military task force in the North-East.

The Director of Army Public Relations, Brig.-Gen Sani Usman, confirmed this in a statement on Thursday in Abuja.

According to Usman, the newly promoted Maj.-Gen. O.T. Akinjobi, Head of the Operations Monitoring Team at the Office of the Chief of Army Staff, has been appointed Commander, Sector 3, Operation Lafiya Dole.

He said that Maj.-Gen. M.G. Ali, Commander, 9 Brigade, has been appointed Commander of the newly created Nigerian Army Special Forces Command.

He said that Brig.-Gen. B.R. Sinjen would command Integrated Fire Support, while Brig.-Gen. F.O. Omoigui, had been moved from 2 Division, Nigerian Army to Army Headquarters’ Department of Training and Operations as Director of Operations.

Usman stated that the deployment moved Brig.-Gen. T.A. Lagbaja to 9 Brigade, Nigerian Army as commander.

Also affected, he said, was Brig.-Gen. O.R. Aiyenigba, Director, Land Warfare, Armed Forces Command and Staff College, who had been assigned to Office of the Chief of Army Staff as Head of Operations Monitoring Team.

According to Usman, Brig.-Gen. A.U. Kuliya is to take over as Director, Land Warfare at the Armed Forces Command and Staff College.

“Similarly, new Brigade Commanders have been appointed for some of the Brigades at Operation LAFIYA DOLE.

“These include Brig.-Gen. E.F. Oyinlola, 22 Brigade; Brig.-Gen. V.U. Okoro, 25 Task Force Brigade; Brig.-Gen. A.B. Mohammed, 26 Task Force Brigade and Brig.-Gen. A.O. Oyelade, 27 Task Force Brigade.

“Brig.-Gen. M.T. Usman, 28 Task Force Brigade and Brig.-Gen. M.G. Kangye, 37 Brigade.’’

The army spokesman added that Brig.-Gen. A.S. Ishaq had been appointed as Coordinator, Nigeria Police Force for Operation LAFIYA DOLE.

He also announced that new commanders had been appointed for the various Army Headquarters Logistics Commands at the theatre.

“These include Brig.-Gen. A.G. Ibrahim, Brig.-Gen. P.N. Okeson and Brig.-Gen. O.A. Aminu, for Logistics Base I, II and III, respectively.”

Usman said the posting affected several Commanding Officers of the various units in Operation Lafiya Dole.

He said Buratai had directed that all those affected by the posting must remain committed and fully in charge until they were properly relieved in line with standard operating procedures and military professional ethics.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that Buratai had, shortly after decorating the newly-promoted senior officers on Thursday in Abuja, hinted that deployments were in the offing for them.
