Have you ever wanted to know who the best rapper in Africa is? Well, we have come up with a ranking of the best rappers in Africa 2018. The below list consists of African Rappers (home based) that have done the best jobs within the last 12 months. We looked into the African hip hop acts that have had the most successful songs not just in their countries but across Africa and other continents, we feature the top African rappers with the best and most unique contents, and of course their brilliant bars in recent months.

1. Nasty C

Nasty C, is a South African rapper, songwriter and record producer. He's been ranked among the best musicians in Africa and South Africa in recent month
He was the youngest recipient for an award at the 2015 South African Hip Hop Awards, namely the Best Freshman Award. In July 2018 he released his second studio album titled Strings & Bling. His performance in the past 12 months has got him a lot of love and many international approvals. With hit singles like ‘Said’ and hits songs on his 2018 album, Nasty is the best rapper in Africa 2018

Cassper Nyovest, is a South African recording artist and record producer.
His debut album Tsholofelo was released on 18 July 2014. He is currently signed to his own independent label and media company, Family Tree. Casper has done nothing but wow many people with the kinds of hits he’s been making in the hip hop scene these last 12 months. Definitely one of the top ten best rappers in Africa

3. Falz

The Nigerian hip hop star is very well loved in Nigeria because of his unique style of rap, some people say his beats are the most unique in Nigeria. Many songs on Falz‘s 27 album dropped late 2017 are still buzzing, while his 2018 singles are nothing but top notch. He’s been ranked to be 3rd on the top 10 Best rappers in Africa this year.

4. Sarkodie

Sarkodie, is a Ghanaian hip hop recording artist and entrepreneur from Tema. He won the Best International Act: Africa category at the 2012 BET Awards, and was nominated in the same category at the 2014 BET Awards
The Ghanaian rapper has dropped numerous projects in the last 12 months. Sarkodie has earned himself the no. 4 spot on this list.

5. M.I Abaga

Has been ranked the best African rapper many times before. The Nigerian hip hop act has dropped several projects this year and at the time of writing he recently announced a release date for the second body of work he would be releasing this 2018.

AKA, is a South African hip hop artist, record producer, father and businessman. He did great last year and he has also had quite an amazing 2018 after the release of his new album titled Touch My Blood.

7. Khaligraph Jones

He is a Kenyan hip hop artiste. He is popularly known for his hit song ‘Yego’. The rapper has released several works this year. His new album titled Testimony has been doing well in the country. He has done several successful collaborations too. He deserves this spot.

8. Nadia Nakai

Nadia Nakai is a South African rapper and song writer. Her first time on the Top 10 African Ranking
She came into spotlight in 2017 and has since then been doing big things. Her works have shown she is hardworking and ready to do more. She has released a couple works this year and has done several brilliant collabos. She has earned her self a spot here.

9. Phyno

Phyno, is a Nigerian rapper, singer, songwriter and record producer. The Hip-Hop act mostly raps in his dialect, he raps in English too. Phyno has released many brilliant projects within the last 12 months, he’s been ranked 9th on the best rappers in Africa list.

10. M.Anifest

M.anifest is a Ghanaian rapper, singer and songwriter.
He won Best Rapper and Hip-Hop song of the year at the 2017 Ghana Music Awards. He has worked with Damon Albarn, Flea, Tony Allen, Erykah Badu, and is featured on five songs on the Rocket Juice and The Moon album. His 2017/2018 works as got him featured on this list.
