Apple came out to tell the world that it will drop it’s first 5G iPhone in 2020. Of course a lot of iPhone fans were certainly not happy about it. They’re not happy that while android users will start enjoying 5G early next year, they have to wait one more year till 2020 to have a feel of the new 5G network. The company has finally come out to defend it’s decision. They’re saying that the reason it is waiting till 2020 to roll out the 5G iPhone is because it wants to play according to it’s old tradition of waiting one year for the technology to mature. Apple believes that waiting will allow all of the technical problems to get solved. Also a larger market to form that it can take advantage of.



You may recall that Apple waited one year later to release it’s first 3G iPhone. It also waited one year later to launch it’s own 4G iPhone and are willing to play by the old playbook by waiting one more year before releasing it’s first 5G smartphone. However experts believe this will be a risky move by the company. This is because 5G is a much different technology than 3G or 4G and not joining the game early will make the iPhone look inferior to the likes of Samsung who will start selling it’s own 5G Galaxy S10 smartphones early next year.

THE MAJOR REASON

However, our findings have shown us that Apple’s reason for waiting till 2020 is not entirely the truth. Apple already had plans to release it’s 5G iPhone in 2019. Not until it got into a major patent dispute with Qualcomm who supplies the company with chips. This fight with Qualcomm has resulted in a messy lawsuit and has forced Apple to look for a new chip maker (Intel) to supply it with 5G chips. Qualcomm is the world’s best chip maker and they are already supplying companies like Samsung, OnePlus, LG etc with 5G processors. Apple on the other hand has to depend on Intel whose chips are not as good as the Snapdragon. The company hopes that Intel will be able to correct it’s mistake and make good 5G chipsets.




Intel is a major player in producing chips for Windows PC. However they are not too good when it come to making smartphone chips. The first chips Intel supplied to Apple made the iPhones to overheat and Apple dumped them. Now this battle with Qualcomm has forced Apple to run back to it’s vomit (Intel). It is willing to wait one full year just to allow Intel to do more research and come up with a better 5G product. Depending on Intel is a risky move by Apple. Also delaying the iPhone till 2020 will make Samsung, Huawei and other android makers get a huge market share of the 5G market.

Apart from Intel, Huawei is also producing powerful 5G chips. But because of US sanctions on the company, Apple cannot buy chips from Huawei. If for any reason Intel fails to deliver, the last option for Apple is to use MediaTek 5G chips for it’s iPhones. Using MediaTek will definitely make iPhones cheaper and cost the company billions of dollars in profit. We hope that Intel really delivers because Apple’s life depends on it.

The only way to settle is to pay compensation in billions. Tim Cook will rather fight the case in court than settle

Their decision could lead to production of inferior phones.


They should avoid losing the market and find a better solution.

exactly. My fear is that Apple fans are addicted to it. Even if Apple decides to use MediaTek processors, Apple users will still believe the iPhone is the best
