The Nigerian Senate has formally declared open the public hearing on vote-buying and improving electoral processes in the country.

This was contained in a tweet on the verified Twitter handle of the Nigerian Senate @NGRSenate@

Earlier, Senate President Bukola Saraki had welcomed the National Assembly Joint Committee on INEC to the one-day event, even as the Chairman, Senate Committee on INEC, Senator Suleiman Nazif, led the opening prayer and welcomed the Bukola Saraki, House Speaker Yakub Dogara, senators and honourable members.

Nazif, in his welcome address, said the National Assembly amended the Act, noting, “Any person who processes fake voters card or violates the rules and regulation is liable to five-year imprisonment.”

“It is not only the responsibility of the legislators, but the Executive, Police, Armed Forces and other agencies are to ensure credible elections,” Nazif said.

When a short imp/shrine statue of a so-called APC-VP goes from door to door, like a street-hawker selling his LOOTERMONI of the PEOPLEMONI schemes barely 3 months to the s-election process, I don’t know what else PVC/VOTER-BUYING is. grin

Sai baba.

Saraki is angry that those Monies are giving directly to the poor and the petty traders.. Meanwhile foolish intellectuals will support bailing of failed banks with trillions of natural.. FG spends less than 100bn to stimulate SMEs.

Please keep touching the life of the common man. No more corrupt third party or middle men like the days of sure-p where 6k we're paid to beneficiaries is some quarters instead of 20k..

It is people with some bias that target the APC as the only vote buyers. Saraki and co. are set to shoot themselves on their feet come 2019.

Since it was approved by the Presidency and the National House of Assembly, it simply means we are all guilty if your assertion is right.
