How does it involves MURIC??
Because they raise the alarm??

Do MURIC use water instead of fuel to run their engine??

Won't fuel scarcity affect everyone

I still don't get why we always try to bring religion and tribe into almost everything in this Nigeria..
The question is where was Muric when there was fuel scarcity last year?

An average man is selfish. He thinks of himself and by extension his family. When you see a person clamouring for a change, watch it because it might have an ulterior motive behind it. Yes Muric might have raised an alarm concerning shortage of petroleum motor spirit, they did that to avoid scarcity of petrol that lingered for long last year yuletide season. However what op raised is the ulterior motive behind it. According to him, the motive behind this is religiously and politically related. Religiously because it involves a religious body, politically because elections are fast approaching. Just the way CAN were in support of Jonathan is same way Muric is to PMB. Their body language and communication says it all. These religious body ought to advice the government instead of meddling in the affairs of government. A religious leader stands in between the government and the masses and takes no side when certain things are made. In fact they shouldn't endorse any political office holders like we see these days. Their job is basically to correct and rebuke erring politicians that do not perform well not going to Aso rock to share money and snap pictures. It doesn't mean they can't visit state house if the need arise but they must be focus.

Not limited to fuel alone even electricity supply has tremendously improves.... We notice this inbetween may and August but they claim that's usual procedure because it was raining seasonal... Since October till now the average power supply especially in Ibadan is between 15-20 hrs per day.. Caveat, am not talking about area with transformer or peculiar supply distribution hiccups..... STATISTICS :Out of Jonathan 6yrs rule, we experience fuel distribution hitches up to 4 December,.. Out of the 3 and half Buhari govt, we only experiences same price only last December... I JUST try to come out with fact and free of political inclination

President Goodluck Jonathan's administration killed and buried fuel problems/scarcity during Christmas period.
One outstanding achievement of that adminstration.

A few weeks ago, the the chairman of MURIC Prof Ishiak Oloyede raised an alarm over "a plan by some people to create an artificial fuel scarcity this December and asked the FG to do all it can in its power to stop it, most especially as the 2019 elections draw near.

If you cast your mind back to what happened last year and year before, about the painful experience the Nigerians passed through due to fuel scarcity and unavailability of cash in banks, which looked like, "a deliberate attempt to frustrate people's movements with Christmas and new year celebration. ( My Opinion Though ).

For some years now this has been the case, we always have if tough most especially, during Christian festive periods.
But I'm surprised that this year, we're almost cruising to the Christmas and new year celebration without any of these itches. Could my assumption up there be right that these problems are man made, and religious-politically motivated ?

Now, take a look at the man who first raised the alarm, MURIC Chairman/President, where was he last year when people had to pay through their nose in order for them to travel for Christmas and new year celebration , while some couldn't even make it due to unaffordable transport fair bcs of fuel scarcity ?

But this year reverse seems to be the case as Christmas is almost here, no fuel scarcity, no cash shortage in banks, everything seems to be going on smoothly bearing any last minute changes which I doubt bcs of 2019 elections are around the corner.

So Nairalanders, your observations, opinions are welcome.

There was fuel scarcity last year...Only if you are not honest to your self and in the days of GEJ no in December, until sabotage crept in.

This is even as the Department of Petroleum Resources, DPR, in an unscheduled visit, forced some filling stations hoarding petrol in Lagos, to dispense the product. The filling stations included MRS, Oando, Ascon, Conoil and Mobil at Ebute Metta Baru said: “But we swiftly swung into action by doubling our supply nationwide. At the time the rumour started, we had about 30 day sufficiency. The normal daily supply to the nation is 700 trucks, equaling about 27 million to 30 million litres per day.” The NNPC boss, who was quoted in a statement in Abuja, disclosed that the hike in the product supply became necessary after the current hiccup in fuel supply was noticed a few days back, adding that these measures would ensure that the fuel crisis comes to an end this week. According to the statement, Mr. Maikanti Baru, disclosed this shortly before the signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding, MoU, between the Corporation and the Benue State Government on the Agasha-Guma Bio-fuels Projects, in Abuja. The biofuels project is expected to create one million direct and indirect jobs for Nigerians on completion and would also produce about 84 million litres of fuel ethanol annually. The NNPC said that it plans to mobilize to site by the first quarter of 2018. Baru blamed the current fuel crisis on the rumour about a planned increase in the price of petrol, which made some unscrupulous marketers, wanting to cash in on the situation, to suddenly start hoarding products. Baru noted that the NNPC had enough products sufficiency that will last up to 30 days, adding that at least a billion litre petrol laden cargoes were heading to Nigeria shores at the end of December, which would return the country to a 30-day-plus sufficiency. Crude oil sales automation Speaking on the automation of its crude oil sales processes, Group General Manager, Crude Oil Marketing Division of the NNPC, Mr. Mele Kyari, stated that the automation exercise which would be concluded in 2018 had enabled the corporation to achieve an end-to-end monitoring of every barrel of crude oil sold in the country. “Today at a click of a button we can tell you how much crude oil is sold, at what price, who bought it and where it has gone to among others,” he explained.[/b]

Was the price per oil barrel the same compared to now? Or was your atikullooted vice president with that otaaa th**f able to provide good jobs, electricity, good roads with the price of oil by that time, diversifying the economy would havebeen pretty better by then compred to now, so chill bro, this government, though not doing things to the taste of nigerians are doing a bit well with the situation surrounding Nigeria now courtesy of atikulooted
