PRESS STATEMENT

We as a body have received different reports on the communal clashes between the two tribes in Toto LGC which have caused a lot of damage and destruction of property and loose of life

This crisis have affected education in the local government. Consequently, some students were forced to run for their safety in the neighboring States and FCT.
Education is total shutdown in some parts of the local government with the increasing attacks by the unknown militia said to be of Bassa extraction.

This is no more a communal clash, but rather another form of banditry against the travelers,passers bye and business associates
This act is becoming unbecoming due the incessant attacks by this militias.

A primary school in karabana of umaisha development area is is burn down completely by this armed militiamen on 6th Dec 2018 and four farmers were killed in near village and off till now noting has been done to end to insecurity in that particular areas.

We call on government to set a joint task force to as patrol team around the affected areas as soon as possible before it gets out of hand and leads to anarchy

We also call on the state government to end the killings of innocent students and destruction of educational facilities before January or we will Assembly Nigeria Students to Stage a protest and tell the world on how Nigeria students are being killed in the hands of Bassa Militias Just to Satisfy their hembe.

We also urge Nasarawa State government to set up a committee to end the menace and the reckless handling of security in Toto L G C
We as a body will not sit idle and fold our arms in the face of banditry as wreak havoc and burn down primary schools in order to stop the education of younger generation from learning.

This is not about a tribe,is all about humanity and justice,an injury to one is an injury to all.

If they refuse to intervene as a matter of urgency before it turns to something else, this is How BOKO HARAM started and latter become a global terror network.
