Guy pls read nd undstnd b4 u comment. The bill was passed by the Senate nd nt PMB. The bill hasn't been presented to him(PMB) for assent let alone him signing it. Infact it hasn't been presented to the house of rep.

The West Development Commission bill should be of higher priority as thats where they end up running to at the end of the day making the region crowded and demanding infrastructural development

Many Southeasterners are enterprising but a functional sea port won't transform the Southeast. Commerce alone can't do anything. Government policies and intentional development is what made Singapore a success.

The Southeast development commission won't solve anything. It would only hand more money to a select few and increase agitation from other regions.

Soon the north west will ask for their own commission to battle desertification, Lagos will resuscitate their call for special status and other regions will have

... the bill was first read in the Senate on June 22, 2016.

Sophisticated vote buying and campaign strategy. The bill was dumped at first reading because it was seen as duplication of existing commission such as NDDC and sister agencies while the North East was passed. Passing the bill now knowing fully well that Buhari will eventually decline to assent to the bill, will open a great door of hate campaign against Buhari that he hate SE. This is because the region as at the moment is seen to be warming up to support Buhari for their political gain on account of Atiku smart/fast play on them.

Human beings are wicked. Lagos contributes more than 70% of the states- WHT,VAT, etc yet they denied its status but want South East that is a leach and parasite to benefit when it contributes nothing.

Oil in Ondo State is more than 5 times what Abia and Imo contribute to Nigeria.

The funny thing is that, the Lagos bill was killed mostly by SE senators
