Many of the families of these fallen soldiers are languishing in poverty in their respective barracks.If a Nigerian soldier is declare missing or dies in combat his allowance and salary will be stopped.His family will remain in the barracks suffering without help from the army authority or government.For the family to start processing the late bread winner's gratuity will become a thug of war.They will be traveling from Lagos to Abuja to sign one document or the other.If they don't bribe the process will be slow.The most richest unit of the army is the finance department.Na them dey embezzle deceased soldiers gratuity.

Well, the government of the day believes "soldier come, soldier go... Barracks remain"... What they probably don't yet realize is that soon soldiers might or will stop coming, and the barracks will consequently become extinct.
If not joblessness, what will make a promising young man mortgage his life and future for a lost cause like this failed state.
