Platoon commander ? A Captain ? This sh*t doesnt add up. A second leutenant is supposed to command a platoon NOT a Captain. A Captain commands a Company of atleast 200men which means 3-4 platoons. A platoon contains about 25men atleast. But wetin i sabi ?

From his badge.I'm seeing a Major here and not a Captain, In Nigeria Army ranking, commissioned officers begin with a Star as a Second Lieutenant, 2 Stars as a Full lieutenant , while 3 stars is a Captain, while 1 Eagle is a Major, if what i'm seeing here is one Eagle then this fallen soldier supposed to called a Major and not a Captain, unless he was promoted in death , RIP , the brave one !!

In military parlance, nothing is written in stone. Situation can easily change tactics and strategies. You are correct that, at least, 25men can constitute a platoon and 4 or more platoons make a company. However, in Nigeria where Brigadier commands a Brigade or Regiment, it is highly unlikely that a Captain might command a Company or a Battalion. There are Colonels, Lt. Colonels and Majors down the line before a Captain. Where military officers are scarce, especially during the war when death rate is high, Colonels and Lt. Colonels can command a Division and Majors or even Captains can command a Brigade or Regiment.

No, a dead man does not wear military uniform sitting or walking around in a room. The only possible explanation could be that he was a T-Major (Temporary) that has not been substantiated thus not yet a substantive Major.
