Oyo state government is just confused. CCTV cameras in a city that does not have street light in major places. Wtf is that! Go to Ibadan in the night, almost everywhere is literally dark. I wonder if this Ajimobi guy does not come to Lagos sometimes. You can drive on 3MB in Lagos in the night without having to put on your cars full light. So what he could think of now is CCTV. I know the contract was awarded to someone to compensate them for another thing. Shior!

Solar power is not useless in Nigeria and I'm not saying it is, in fact, we have solar power projects under construction in Nigeria as we speak, but the Dubai project you sited is far far below our own $5 billion Mambila power project.

Mambila was left on the drawing board for 40 years, but it's fully funded and under construction in less than 3 years.
Under construction you say? 2019 is under construction? Is this not the same story it has been subjected to for the past "40 years"
Fake news kill you there.

Bro relax, this is not a fight contest.

My point, is as long you are political, you can only see things in one way. Same way you sometimes wonder how on earth will someone supports Atiku. The CCTV launching is a good initiative but still misplaced priority. This is not about Nigerians don't have maintenance culture, Ajimobi himself lacks the maintenance. It may be hard for you to see it but I am talking as someone who do not associate with any political party but cares about the development of his region.

Btw, did they actually spend N300m for the installations at the 10 sites?

As long as you are an Apc supporters, even if they are wrong, it would be hard for you to see it. Same way some people believed Jubril story.
oga, if you can call infrastructural development and security measures equipment A MISPLACED PRIORITY.....

then no one needs to argue with you again......

most of the traffic light in the major cities across the country all runs on solar energy.... and not on PHCN...

your lack of ignorant and exposure is what blind your thinking.... CCTV cameras are now been installed everywhere ... some states government has done theirs, only they didn't publicise it...

Lagos has it own, Abuja, i know of Kano too,.....

don't be ignorant Broda, try make research, read news, mingle with intellectual people......

The electricity that powered the system in the pictures came from where? From the MOON.

Nigerian youth, stop thinking like a lazy person, you are supposed to look for creatives ways to overcome obstacles.

Your challenges shouldn't define you or limit your capacity to overcome, these old folks are proving to you that nothing is impossible.

Sometimes I thank God that Nigerian youths are not in charge of anything because they are too negative and incapable of doing anything..
guy man please pipe down those guys are right to some extent, our leaders are our problems. how can someone erect CCTV camera system without stable electricity and no databasehuh with the way things are someone can easily commit crimes and get away with it because we don't have the necessary equipment in place. if you are talking about generator or solar system that one too is a write off because some of these things 'd fail too in the long run, I have seen a solar system powered traffic light that only works when the sun is shining and goes off immediately sunset and don't even get me started on the database system. the truth is our leaders don't have our thoughts at heart but anything and everything they do is all POLITICS the sooner you realize that the better!!!! I will give you just one example: ever since the Fulani herdsmen saga have you ever read or heard where president Muhammad buhari promised to compensate for the damages caused by themhuh but now that the elections are coming he's now acting as if he is a good person and he even promised to compensate farmers whose farmland were ravaged by flood!!!!!!

I can get the shit done for far less but as usual, someone has smiled to the bank and being in same wavelength as the thinker, I would commend them for taking advantage of the opportunity.

The developed countries didn't start such project until they had necessary and most important things in place...

That nonsense will be abandoned after this tenure and you are insulting the youth..., you even claim we think backward... i dont blame you.

What is the major purpose of setting up such project? where will it be in 50 years? ABANDONED ? Like I said, I do not blame you...

You don't need so much power to be watching a bunch of cameras; I am presently watching 42 cameras at once, also glancing from time to time on 196 others. The control room doesn't use up to half of the power consumed in the premises.

How can u come n say solar power is unless in Nigeria, is like saying the sun is unless in Nigeria, the issue is not solar power but lack of maintenance. The picture below is Dubai solar park in the middle of a desert, I don't see whats stopping Nigeria govt from building something like this in zaria.
Why are you talking as if you are not a Nigerian. A country whose federal government boldly come out to celebrate pencil production in 21st century. Tell me one thing that any govt (federal and state) has ever built and maintained to world class level? Pls stop referring to Dubai. Nigeria is heading for doom in the hands of these incompetences.

no any governor has ever performed as Ajimobi but he has his own shortcomings, before his emergence as the governor, the only thing you can say about Ibadan is crisis prone area and crude city but this man really changed Ibadan story.

Lazy Nigerian youth, all you do is let us know how lazy thinking your are, how negative you are, how mentality paralyzed and stagnant you are, how uncreative and unimaginative you are as a human being.

You youths can do better than crying and moaning all the tine, you can do better than your usual backward thinking and pessimistic mentality.

Another silly and thoughtless lazy Nigerian youth rant.

The typical lazy Nigerian youth will tell you that it is misplaced priority to install CCTV because of unstable electricity even though there are a million and one ways to power CCTV cameras.

It means the typical lazy Nigerian youth is mentally incompetent, not sensible, not smart or creative enough to find meaningful solutions to pressing needs and problems.

The typical lazy Nigerian you will tell you that it is misplaced priority to invest in security or to install CCTV cameras because there's no stable Power, so this Nigerian youth will not do anything until decades later from now when there's stable electricity.

It's like saying it is misplaced priority to buy and eat bread because you don't have butter or to buy and soak garri because you don't have groundnut.

This is how mentally lazy Nigerian youths are, they think they are smart, but they sound like kids without any capacity to handle complex issues, to solve any problem or to simply so the right thing when necessary.

This poster and other lazy youths keep rambling about database, what is the meaning of that rubbish? So you need database before alarming security agents on the ground that something is going on in any particular place on the CCTV camera?

Do you need database before informing security agents that armed robbers are driving away in a red toyota car and heading in this or that direction?

What about car registration and license plates with owners names and addresses? Are they not recorded and stored somewhere? Is this not a database.

Or if the CCTV camera captured a vehicle, the color and plate number used in a robbery, security agents can not go to their car registration database to find out who the car belongs to or registered to? Is this not database?

Is this not how they do it in advanced countries?

Obviously, you don't know the meaning of database, you are just shouting database database, but you are really clueless.

Again, the typical lazy Nigerian youth is mentally lazy, they don't know anything, all they do is display needless ignorance, lack of intelligence and critical thinking.

You people really need to stop embarrassing Nigeria with your ignorance and lazy mentality.
