Sunday Ajayi, the Anambra State sector commander, Federal Road Safety Corps, has died in a fatal car accident.

Mr Ajayi died, this morning, around Agbor, Delta State, while on his way from Kwara state, where he attended a wedding. His driver, a senior marshal, Raji, however, survived and is in the hospital.

Ajayi had, recently, noted that speed was responsible for more than 50% crashes on Nigeria roads.

BTW how ironical that a road law enforcement officer would die in a road crash despite all the knowledge acquired about driving safely.......unfortunately in this part of the world all uniformed men see themselves as mini gods on the roads

the fact is that u can adhere to all the road safety rules as regards to over speeding, vehicle maintenance and whatnot but u still need God and luck on your side to stay alive.

because I ve seen a situation where someone will just park and sit inside his car on the roadside jeje, and dangote truck will just fail break and come and crush u and ur car to pieces.. every day of our life is filled with risk. and u can never be too careful....

What an irony of life ?

Sector Commander is equivalent to Commissioner of Police (i stand to be corrected). Why drive all the way from Kwara? Was there no flight? First time I'm seeing a public servant of such position use road.
