Funny thing about this Muslim
political sharia is that they only enforce
the part that they feel will affect Christians
while ignoring other areas of sharia that
impose responsibilities on them.

Example.

1) Shari'a is against street begging, destitution &
Almajiri system loved by Nigerian Muslims.
They are supposed to provide welfare to them,
but that is a responsibility they don't want.

2) They have stopped chopping off the arms
& legs of thieves, since it will adversely affect
fellow Muslims.

3)They have not being beheading murderers
or drug peddlers, since its their people that
commit these crimes.
When murderous muslim bandits & murderers were
Apprehended some years back in kano instead of
beheading them, the Sharia govt claimed they
'rehabilitation' them & freed them. I don't know
which aspect of the law they used.

3)You have more drug addicts & smokers
amongst northern Muslims.

In Nigeria, the only sharia law observed is,
destroying beer bottles & nothing else.
It is only used to harrass people of other
religions.

Who is fooling who??

Hypocrites, backward set of people.

Back then when I was serving in Katsina, these same fools going about confiscating bottles of beer in the day time, will come like a thief in the night to mama Tega's beer parlour to consume like 2 cartons of beer and add some in their kettle they use for ablution as a "take away pack" before staggering home with a couple of young prostitutes.

It's crazy how alcohol is bad but smoking, sniffing and popping pills are allowed

The Bible book of Proverbs is filled with warnings against indulging in wine and strong drink (see Proverbs 20:1; 21:17; 23:29-35; 31:4). Wine mocks those who use it (see Proverbs 20:1) and rewards them with woe, sorrow, strife, and wounds without cause (see Proverbs 23:29, 30). “In the end it [wine] bites like a snake and poisons like a viper” (verse 32, NIV). The prophet Isaiah declared, “Woe to those who are heroes at drinking wine and champions at mixing drinks” (Isaiah 5:22, NIV). Daniel and his companions set a worthy example by refusing to drink the king’s wine (see Daniel 1:5-16). When fasting later in life, Daniel abstained from wine (see Daniel 10:3).

Short-term effects of alcohol

Short-term effects of alcohol include distorted vision, hearing, coordination, altered perceptions and emotions, impaired judgment, bad breath and hangovers. Such problems can occur after drinking over a relatively short period of time.

Long-term effects of alcohol

Other problems such as liver disease, heart disease, certain forms of cancer, and pancreatitis—often develop more gradually and may become evident only after years of drinking. Women may develop alcohol-related health problems sooner than men and from drinking less alcohol than men. Because alcohol affects nearly every organ in the body, long-term drinking increases the risk for many serious health problems.

Cancer

Long-term heavy drinking increases the risk of certain forms of cancer, especially cancer of the esophagus, mouth, throat, and larynx (voice box). Research suggests that for some women as little as one drink per day can slightly raise the risk of breast cancer. Drinking may also increase the risk for developing cancer of the colon and rectum.

Abstained from wine, meaning after the fast, Daniel went back to drinking wine

Same thing they did in Sokoto and Zamfara. Their “big men” and Alhaji’s did that under the cover of the night. At the girls hostel in the University, you’ll see enough used condoms on Sunday mornings. Ghosts didn’t use them.

Their hypocrisy must be on par with Western foriegn policy hypocrisy.

One of my neighbours who's an Alhaji was even threatening me because my ex always intimidate him with loud moaning at night, and this same idiot will be fvcking girls younger than his last daughter after his excessive consumption of alcohol.

You are on point here.

Infact, you have said it all hitting the nail on the head.

They claim to sanitise their Kano state to prevent habits forbidden in Islam from spreading such as the drinking of alcholics drink e.g beer

But they are turning a blind eyes to the vat related money they are collecting via federal allocation taxed from vat derivable from alcoholic drinks.

They are refusing to accept restructuring because their cheating against productive states in the southern part of Nigeria will be stopped.

If your religion forbid the drinking of beer and other alcoholic drink why still collect this contaminated money through the back door?
