Amnesty International Operations Damaging Military's Morale - Presidency by Omooba77(op): 9:59am On Dec 18, 2018
The Presidency yesterday said it is increasingly concerned about the role that Amnesty International (AI) is playing in the war against terror in Nigeria.

The Presidency’s statement is coming hours after the Nigerian Army alleged that the organisation is working to destabilize Nigeria.

Presidential Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu in a statement said while President Muhammadu Buhari cherishes and encourages the noble ideals on which institutions like Amnesty International were founded, the organisation’s operations in Nigeria seem geared towards damaging the morale of the Nigerian military.

“It often appears as if the Nigerian government is fighting two wars on terror: against Boko Haram and against Amnesty International.

“The obvious bias and inaccuracies in Amnesty International’s recent country report on Nigeria risk Amnesty’s reputation as an impartial international organisation,” he said.

President Buhari appealed to the leadership of Amnesty International to scrutinise its advocacy in Nigeria, especially as it relates to the war against terrorism.

A statement by army spokesman Brigadier General Sani Usman said

“The Nigerian branch of Amnesty International that has hitherto been well respected has deviated from the core values, principles and objectives of the original Amnesty International domiciled in the United Kingdom.

“There is a credible information that the Nigerian branch of the International Non-governmental Organisation is determined to destabilise the Nigerian nation.”

“This is noted through fabrication of fictitious allegations of alleged human rights abuses against the Nigerian security forces and clandestine sponsorship of dissident groups to protest, as well as unfounded allegations against the leadership of the Nigerian military,” Usman said.

The presidency is very right on this. This organization is always bent on tagging the military bad but they will never come hard on boko Haram. They did same under GEJ, that was why the us military couldn't sell us weapon. Let us put politics aside and fight this organization off our country. Before you side them, remember your citizens are being killed everyday in the hands of Boko Haram. Politics shouldn't cloud our judgement Everytime

You want AI to keep quiet so that you can keep killing innocent citizens and protesters with War machine guns and 50 cals. God punish your generation dumbohari. You are a murderer and a terroristic killer.

New York times uploaded a video showing how you sent the your presidential guards to kill Shiites like flies just the way you killed Igbo youth in Aba, Onitsha, Asaba, PH for simply protesting.

Dumbohari you will not escape justice, here or in afterlife. And for you bastards zombiharists, if I catch any of you near me in real life, I'll kick in your teeth if you preach about your zombie business to me.

Has Garbage Shehu seen the New York Times video of the massacre of Shiites?

It is now evident why this government wants Amnesty international and UNICEF out of the country.

Boko haram should keep up the good work by wiping more Nigerian soldiers until they are finished. The citizens don't need terrorist in uniforms to protect them from danger. The video released by Newyork Times has shown that Nigerian army are the bigger terrorist.

Another nonsense from BMC crew.
I don't know if you are ignorant or feigning one.
Amnesty is not an occupying force, they will vacate their operations with a single presidential directive, there is no need to "fight".
The reason why the dullard have not sent them parking is that of the famine and deaths that will follow their exit and also the
backlash from the west.

angry Just as they killed Boko Haram members at broad daylight in the street of Abuja in October right?
NA most times are their own enemies, their actions within the country sends a very disturbing message to the world on what they are capable of.
Nobody supports the madness going on in the Northeast but the untold hardship and pains been allegedly perpetuated by our troops is shocking.
You don't open fire on civilians in the capital city under the camera with impunity and expect to have the support from any sane country.
Re: Amnesty International Operations Damaging Military's Morale - Presidency by Dpharisee: 2:25pm On Dec 18, 2018
Amnesty international is ignoring Saudi Arabia and UAE atrocities in Yemen because the Saudi govt funds part of their activities.
They hardly report on what America is doing in Afghanistan nor what NATO did to Libya in 2011 with the murder of Gaddafi after his convoy was bombed by France.
While I want Buhari to be sent back to Daura in 2019 but we must guard against western interference in our elections because it normally doesn't end well.
We should ask Amnesty international to look what US is doing in Syria, we are the ones to lambast our military not Amnesty international which is here to pursue western agenda
Re: Amnesty International Operations Damaging Military's Morale - Presidency by 1miccza: 2:25pm On Dec 18, 2018
At this rate, they shouldn't be concerned about Amnesty International, a whole lot of American Senators and even operatives have been analyzing that footage including CIA operatives, these lies would not last for long...
