Haven said the truth, do not forget that humans are insatiable and always demanding. If churches turns to play the role daddy freezer or whatever his name is, believe me that people will abuse such privileges and turn churches to charity homes, things like gov't owned schools may not be patronized, quality private schools will become useless and that will create more mentally and physically poor people because free things are available in the church.

I don't think so, Church is about service not for profit, the schools may not be free but should be affordable, if all the churches does this for it's members, it will set standard for the education system in our country,

Freeze, these Pentecostal pastors have succeeded in turning church to business, what's next for this people after the food is finished?

Giving back a small part of your ill-gotten gains is not charity.

This is commendable but churches in Nigeria should do more. Churches abroad modus operandi is quite different from churches in Nigeria.
They are the ones giving to everyone not just to widows and the fatherless. For example, St. Vincent De Paul here opens every Saturday giving out $60 dollars vouchers to anyone not withstanding their denomination. They also give as much as $100 dollar voucher to shop from their store all kinds of stuff.

Catholic Elementary schools gives school uniforms to new students, school bags, winter jackets even ipads to 6 year olds who didn't do Kindergarten in the country.
Other elementary schools that are not Catholic gave all the schools kids presents too.
All the churches here did Christmas celebration open to members of the public to come and eat and get presents. Last thanksgiving, some churches gave Turkey to members of the public to celebrate thanksgiving.
Churches here show unusual love to people unlike churches in Nigeria.
Catholic Secondary schools are open to Non-Catholics too. They gave them uniforms and winter jackets. When will churches in Nigeria admit members of their own churches in their schools not to talk of other churches?
When they finally do charity, they will advertise it. Nobody advertises their giving here.

You're considerably right but the fact remains that, church is not a profit orientated organisation even though some pastorpreneurs thinks otherwise. Then, on the other hand, if churches should provide "affordable schools" that means the gov't has failed the citizenry because that can only happen where there is a failed govt then churches may decide to step in, which is exactly the kind of society we found ourselves.
#OurGovtHasFailedUs that's why some now takes advantage of the situation to milk their congregation.

I, on behalf of daddyfreeze and all freenation members commend Dr Enenche and urge him to do more in human capital development. We do not criticize u because we want u down, we criticize u because we want u to do what is right and what U v just done is right, so kudos to the church. Pls do more, we want it to be visible and stop treathening christians with Malachi 3:8-10, God will make available anything for His work to move on , all things are freely given by Him. u guys think they have been doing this for years. maybe.
But I ask why not do it monthly why wait until it's end of the year? They collect tithes monthly that runs into billions of naira. they spend an insignificant fraction of the money on the needy. This money was collected over a year but for only this period. This is the same thing our politicians do.
That's what we call selective charity and goodwill.
They know what they r doing. Some people don't know what is charity. visit Europe or America u
understand. it has gotten to the extent that the white has extended their charity to Africa.
Pls charity is an open event that deserves commendation and accountability , it's not about
an individual, but a collective effort. except the money donated by congregation is actually owned by the pastors.

Until they make their schools and university affordable for their members then we can say that they are starting to get it right.
