Mehn!!! I totally respect you. The prejudiced ones will find themselves in court or jail so it’s okay. I only hope it doesn’t make Canada close their doors.

Any news from Accra? Are you on the WhatsApp group?

As a soon-to-be Canadian, I 100% support this. Infact, the test should have same importance level as IELTS. The one I just can't comprehend is an individual with a strong hate for LGBTs applying for PR. How can you clamour to live amongst people whose values you strongly detest? Whatever happened to remaining in 'holy' Nigeria and making heaven?

Haha @skywalk12. 1st landing was early June for 10 days and I just came in again so cumm 10 days

Lol stop running away. I doubt you can file those benefits without proof of living in Canada like tenancy agreements and bank statements. When was your first landing (to determine if you need to file taxes) and how long have you cumulatively stayed?

Yes I'm on the Whatsapp group. You were in the group so you must know me - you just can't marry my monicker to my Whatsapp name. grin

I'm still waiting for AVO. I pray I get PPR early January, else I may have to redo medicals.

I pray you don’t have to redo medicals. God will find a way. Are you in IP2? Has AVO freed others? I truly thought they’d opened their doors with mine.

I doubt you need to file taxes but while you’re there, pop into one of those settlement centres to confirm.

You become tax resident from when you first established residency in Canada. So technicaly, you became eligible to file income taxes from June when you landed. In 2019, you'll have to declare your worldwide income (both earned in Canada and Nigeria) from June (when you became a PR), however, due to the double taxation agreement between Nigeria and Canada, you would not have to pay taxes on income already subject to tax in Nigeria, but you must still file returns.
This response does not cover child benefits though, i don't know how that works.

My inspiration for you.

I landed on a Monday evening , my body had not adjusted to time so when I woke up i decided let start my house search I sent out lots of email not just frloe house alone but for jobs as well ( I already had a viewing booked from Nigeria) . So I got another viewing .

This place was divine within my budget 622 I only pay hydro took the application I didn't want to be in a rush . Also also opened my bank , and got a new SIM that same day . Next day I see the other place not sooner nice , still I take the application form , you never know. As I was getting the form what do I see a call from a company asking me to come in for an interview just day 3 . YES!!!!!!!!!

So I leave the building go home call my family lay out every thing n seek 2nd opinions , so I go on Thursday to submit the application for the first house with my bank statement hoping to get it den off I went for my interview , I get the job I decide okay no harm just submit the other application. On my way there the first house manager call n say SORRY we can't approve you for the house , I felt sad but motivated to I get to the second place n they say, SORRY SOMEONE JUST TOOK IT .

Hmmmmmm.

I took a cab went to the mall sat and got a meal , I called the agent for the second place coz she was soon nice , I told her don't you have something for me n she said hold on my hopes are high again . Yes was a response we got a bachelor's for 700 , ha hanty!!!! I want it she set me up for a viewing Friday the next day with a colleague. I went home happy so that day by 3:00pm I get a call ......

It's another company want me to come in for an interview ( smiles) we do a phone interview ,I passed I schedule the interview for the very next day afternoon .

In the morning I set out first to the bank got my deposit , then went to view the house oh my Magnificent . I walk with the agent back to the office. Fill the forms pay my deposit give them a copy of my bank statement just to add more spice n off u went to do my interview I passed bthe second stage den suddenly I get a call I am approved for the apartment. YESSSSSSSSSSS!!!! Re schedule my last phase interview to Monday went there signed my lease , payed now I got a house .
Ps more jobs are calling.

In 4days I did it , you can do it . Wives , husband's help each other I declared war in success n I will get it.

Dream,plan n push like u never have .

Good morning everyone!!!!!!
Congratulations . This is what you call a system that works. This is the quality of life many Nigerians are seeking for. Keep pushing and the best is yet to come.

I'm usually right. lol. But seriously, I hope you find a way to migrate. The chance of finding a guy like guitarlife won't drastically reduce if you come to the west (Canada/US), it will be eliminated. Guitar is just forming for this thread, and he knows he has no real power in Canada. The second he shows any signs of aggression, all she has to do is call 911, police will come with their guns and he'll be sitting in jail within an hour. The sec he says "divorce is out of the question", she'll file for divorce. After the judge splits the assets 50/50, he'll have to get a second job to help pay his child support bills on top of his regular bills. Because the gov't will automatically take it out of his pay. And if he can't make them ? Na jail be that. The man is making mouth. Here in Canada he'll be kissing his wifes asss begging her not to leave. I have an uncle worse than him and he refuses to bring his wife to Canada. According to him she'd "finish him here in Canada". He's legit scared that she'll have certain powers she could only dream off in naija. They've been "married" for 8 years now. Guitar is just talking nonsense trust me. There's actually a good article on this.

I am quite sure we are saying the same thing...

Estac:
Your views sir, are representative of biblical headship and I have to say sir, that you are a representation of manhood.

If start to drop my two-two cents, POF go finish. But I will only add that "submission" or what is like to call respect (in its deepest and most profound form) comes naturally to a woman who is loved (sincerely, unconditionally and yes, sacrificially) and treated right. It is a natural bi-product of a loving and trusting relationship.

Submission, like respect cannot be "demanded" but earned. It's not something that is earned merely by acquiring the title "husband" or by having a phallus (borrowing the word from a poster). A woman will naturally submit to someone she trusts -- trust to understand, consider and more importantly, PROTECT her in all of his decisions/dealings. A woman will let down her guard for, and defer to any man she KNOWS will protect her, no matter what.

Sirs, I understand how important submission is to a man. But you also don't want forced or pretend "submission", the type that leads to marital collapse once the woman finds an escape route. You want the submission that is willingly given, from a place of a woman's trust.

You think people would be honest on the test ? Also a lot of whites hate black people and end up running and winning the presidency or the highest office. Some here are not worse than the evil oyibo people we live amongst. But good thing we have mechanism to suppress their hate.

The exact same thing I told a Kenyan colleague last month. So anti LGBTQIA. I advised her to go back to Kenya and practice holiness with the rest of her holy Kenyans.

I will never get it. Leave the damn country. Many Africans have asked me why I have "forgotten" my values because I refuse to join "teamholierthanthou". So shallow minded. I swear I learn more when I am not surrounded by my own people. The stupid Kenyan girl was busy preaching holiness meanwhile she is shacking up with a man that hasn't paid her bride price. I asked her how she was better than them in the eyes of God. It's annoying because it is the so called Christians that are anti LGBTQIA but are busy "commiting" their own "small" sin left right and centre.

You live in their country. Accept them or GTFO of their country

People only want you to sin the way they are sinning. You own must not be different. Very very narrow minded and a first world country like Canada is not for them.

Interesting!

Please, any idea on how to go about filing tax returns from Nigeria? I did a short landing in July 2018 and will only return to settle in Canada in June 2019.

I understand improper filing of taxes can affect one’s citizenship application/approval.

Sir May God bless you. You completely spoke my mind. Why do some men feel the need to skip verse 21 of Eph 5 and jump to verse 22 as if 21 is not part of the scriptures, The hypocrisy of it all. I had to pause my reading and reply your post. Your wife is a lucky Lady, God continue to bless your marriage, Amen.

Ndukaezennia1:
Hehehehehehehehe! Typical Nigerian hypocrisy being displayed here. Why did you omit verse 21 of this your lengthy bible post. My people verse Ephesian 5:21 says "Submit to one another out of Reverence for Christ (The NIV bible titles from vs21 to end as (Instruction to Christian household). But the typical Nigerian guy will always ignore that verse 21. But its ok. My brother @guitarlife if you are going to stay in Canada you must revisit your mindset of submission although I have reasons to believe you didn't want to marry the lady in question. Your submission story is just a cover loool! We have all used it before and gone ahead to marry crazier women. My wife told me worse than this lady told you I still went ahead and married her because I was crazily in love with this crazy girl. Three years down the line. I have a woman who will transfer her whole salary to me if I am short of cash, do my laundry( I do not know how much washing a shirt cost, she washes and irons like a pro), send me to market with soup list,I have customers now..Lol! hand me okra to cut, taught me how to make spaghetti and plantain (infact she swears I fry plantain better than her so she has stopped frying plantain, I do that now..Loool!But all in all I have a woman who is willing to love me with her all, who is still not afraid to call me out whenever she feels I am wrong. If that is the partnership, my guy I will take it and to be sincere I am happy. I will not lie and say I wasnt scared prior marriage but I have learnt that all you need is a good woman. if the so called partnership is me taking part in house chores. It hasn't killed me yet. This our Canadian journey she gave it her all infact I just started participating. My opinion is let us all work with stuff that will work for us. Naija favors we men all the time but if you are planning to move here with your spouse my dear naija brothers readjust o. Bikokwa to avoid had I known. If you dont want to you can do like our Igbo brothers relocate alone and be sending money down but then there are still downsides to that..
