The immediate past Chief of Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh's friend released by the killers just days after he was abducted while Badeh was assassinated.

It was learnt that Alex Badeh’s friend was released after his family paid a ransom running into millions of naira, The Punch reports.

The police had said in a statement last week that,

“The former CDS suffered gunshot injury which resulted to his death, while his driver was injured and Badeh’s friend abducted.”

It was learnt that authorities are working on the theory that Badeh’s murder may have been an abduction gone wrong as the friend was released after a ransom was paid.

It was further learnt that there had been two of such incidents along the Keffi-Abuja Expressway before Badeh’s murder in the last one month.

However, sources within the Nigerian Air Force revealed that there would be a joint briefing with the police and the air force immediately after the Christmas break.

“While investigations were on, the family of Badeh’s friend paid a ransom to ensure his release. However, we have continued with the investigation and we have made progress. We will inform members of the public after the Christmas break,” an air force officer said.

The four-star general was killed on the evening of December 18, 2018, while returning from his farm.

His Tundra Toyota truck was riddled with bullets piercing the windscreen and killing him instantly.

Out of the three occupants of the vehicle, however, Badeh was the only one that was killed thereby fueling speculations that he was assassinated.

It is clear case of assassination. Badeh is a bigger fish to kidnap than his friend.

Thinking as a detective though, his friend should be a suspect and he should be questioned.

In this case, his release friend is a prime suspect. This is a make-belief narrative.

Why was there no information concerning the abduction of his friend and subsequent demand for ransom before now?

... Starting to believe that there is more to this than we lay men can understand... I rest my case for now

Thank GOD for the good news, but the story is still somehow nothing shows that Badeh tried to attack them when they were to be abducted that made them kill him. if they are actual kidnappers and not hired assassins they will prefer to abduct Badeh than other person in the car because they will generate more money from his people, his stature would have sold him out that he is a big man.

What if in trying to stop the vehicle with bullets, Badeh was already fatally wounded? They will have no choice than to carry the next valuable person in the car.

Do your won investigation and help us with the truth please! I m sure many of us would be willing to know what the truth really is. But b4 then,we are waiting.

Exactly! to me, this is another foolishly made-up story to cover up the main assassination. my only prayer is that, split innocent blood will hunt the guilty and make them suffer greatly!

He was with no security attaché (if he was he would have sat at the back with his friend)

This is how bad politics and sentiments has taken us to in this country.
I pray social media will not turn to a curse for this country.
Someone with wife/wives, children and relatives is still in the devil's belly and all form of theories is already being postulated. Even by those who should be sensible and sensitive to the such issues.

If it was an assaination,they would have killed both the driver and the friend to avoid eye witness! I assumed they didn't know bade would die during the shoot out! Remember one of the men that was kidnapped by Evans the notorious kidnapper. The man was shot by Evans in the process of abduction and treated while in captive. I am still waiting to hear bade's friend side of the story. I'm following the story closely and attentively then i can reach a conclusion.

1,why aim at front passenger and not the driver.? Whats the sense.? Shooting at a car is primarily to stall the movement in films though.

2, how come a trained driver of CDS, with one arm couldn't drive. Just fainted you may say. Then Does it mean the fr CDS could not do proper recruitment on driver skills.

3, the whole car was riddled with bullets and yet no single one hit the 3rd man? Your friend couldn't advice on insurance policy he subscribed to?.

4,by the way low profile Tyre can be driven when completely flat. And Jumia has bullet proofing compound for about 80k per car of rim 16 . You mean he doesn't have that money or doesn't know about it. OR maybe has it on church car not farm car. Maybe he didn't actually steal referencing EFCC.
