I really enjoyed her philoosophy lectures at Unilag. Rest in Peace Mama Sophie.

I was opportune to listen to her speak and I must say that her passing on is a loss to the philosophy discipline. RIP MAMA

First encountered her when her view on developments in the society used to be sought by NTA.

Thought she was a sociologist.

Ya, i remember her as a kid. NTA was all we had on tv. She will be missed. I wish NTA or some other station could rerun some of her interviews/shows as a tribute to her.

I mean, how I strongly wish I was in existence during the woman's undergraduate years. Now, I am still pursuing my graduate degree ambition and she is gone at 83

Who knows, I would have married her long time ago. Not like the pathetic ladies I show different shades of apathy nowadays and they still struggling for relevance in my life.

However, this two ladies, Folake and Nina are different. But they are proving difficult and stubborn. One told me,we are not in same league because I do not have money. I know I have dreams. They wanted made men.

Yorubas are two bloodlines that mixed and remember Obatala branch of family been in Ife for 10,000 before Christ. The Oduduwa branch, considered the younger brother of Obatala.

It saddens me Elder Sophie is gone. My Sango I wanted to meet her and learn some secrets of Ifa from a woman's point of view. I long for the mother goddess temple and the comfort of priestesses. Yet Elder Sophie is in a much better place in the ancestral world surrounding by those she hasn't seen in such a long time. Live your life Nigerian youths like Elder Professor Sophie and leave your mark upon the Earth.

She's a philosopher. She's been lecturing at Unilag since the 1970s. Her students nicknamed her "Witchcraft" because her lectures are usually about witchcraft and she wrote a book about witchcraft. Her classes were always a lot of fun.

Please do you know where I can get any of her books? I am looking for one in particular where she did a comparative study of Socrates and Orunmila.
