I believe you can only file taxes within that period. After that would attract penalties. You can read here for more info about online, paper or telephone options for filing your taxes. https://www.canada.ca/en/services/taxes/income-tax/personal-income-tax/doing-your-taxes.html

What if a PR did a soft landing and went back and you are not back before February 6th -April 30th can you file whenever you get in or its February to April of the next year?

Technically, if you don't owe there are no penalties. I filed mine way past the deadline this year but since I didn't owe nothing happened ( well I got some refunds)

That is correct.
If you don't owe you may even file next year.
The penalty will apply only in case you owe the government.

Merry Christmas to you

Thanks @rainazoe and @Tojued.
I have made up my mind to do Lufthansa with the feedbacks. However I still got some choose:
1. Layover in FRA for 3 hrs.50 and use Air Canada (smaller) to Toronto OR
2. Layover in FRA for 7 hrs and use same Lufthansa (big plabne) to Toronto. Can 7hrs layover be a nightmare with kids

Consider I have 2 hyper actives (toddler and.baby) . I need d comfort..

I think FRA has excellent facilities including children playgrounds and arcades. 7 hours means you don't have to dash between terminals or be nervous about long queues. Then get your three year old to play and run around, use toilet, snack etc. Generally get him exhausted so he falls asleep immediately you get on the next flight. Three hours extra layover time is not such a big deal to me.

My experience:

The 3 Nigerian family break up I have heard about in Calgary: One was for the reason above, 2nd was infidelity (husband kept a mistress while working in Edmonton, wife in Calgary got to know he was dating a Nigerian student at UofA).
The 3rd was for financial reasons.

The two family I know with husband working overseas are doing well.[/quote]

Lets give room for other discussions relating to landing et all
This has probably ended already, but I'm gonna add a late voice. Wasn't nice to miss out on all the talk smiley
I don't agree with most of your points, bro. But you did good in presenting them with a level head. You've got something right going for you.

Wrapping my head about how to prove I paid taxes in Naija. Besides my PAYE deductions showing in my payslip I don't have any other evidence.

Wow it looks pretty to behold but I can only imagine how cold it will be. Is that why no one can be seen around or the pips prefer to celebrate Xmas indoors. Pls post more pix if you can

Is the rate applied in naija tax higher? If yes then you are good but if not then the difference must be paid in Canada. This is my basic understanding of mutual agreement between countries on taxation.

This would happen if you earn a really huge salary in Nigeria. Otherwise, when converted to CAD, you'd likely not have any difference to pay as your earnings would most likely be in the lower income tax bracket.

If you have a tax number you can apply for your tax clearance by January use it as a prove that you paid for tax.

Merry Christmas people

Just a quick one. Do I need to submit WAEC/NECO result if I want to upgrade my ECA report to Course-by-Course evaluation for licensure purpose?
When I tried starting the upgrade application, I got a prompt that I will need to start a new application.

NB: My ECA was completed June 2017

I went with the first option, had under 4hrs layover at Frankfurt. In my case, the air canada flight from Frankfurt to Toronto was okay but not as nice as the Lufthansa leg to Frankfurt. The plane wasn't small though.

The exact same thing I told a Kenyan colleague last month. So anti LGBTQIA. I advised her to go back to Kenya and practice holiness with the rest of her holy Kenyans.

I will never get it. Leave the damn country. Many Africans have asked me why I have "forgotten" my values because I refuse to join "teamholierthanthou". So shallow minded. I swear I learn more when I am not surrounded by my own people. The stupid Kenyan girl was busy preaching holiness meanwhile she is shacking up with a man that hasn't paid her bride price. I asked her how she was better than them in the eyes of God. It's annoying because it is the so called Christians that are anti LGBTQIA but are busy "commiting" their own "small" sin left right and centre.

You live in their country. Accept them or GTFO of their country

Hypocrites

Everything you said was okay except the part of talking as though Africans are a dumber set of people. I would have said a thing or two to debate the validity of that, but mehn that kind argument fa... make we just chop christmas rice and chicken.

Reminds me of when my Uncle was admonishing my cousin and I to marry early else we would regret. Only for my cousin to reply "Eh Uncle that's the thing, I want to regret!" na crime to regret ? grin grin

You can start by asking your company accountant for your TIN. Hopefully they are organised enough.
