Laptop Prices in Nigeria (2018 Buyer’s Guide) Ikeja Lagos

This page features information on the current laptop prices in Nigeria. So, if you’re looking for good and reliable laptops that suit your budget, you’re just on the right page.

Here, we will reveal the current prices of laptops by popular brands in Nigeria, such as HP, Dell, Lenovo, Samsung, Acer, and Apple. In addition, this page features a comprehensive guide on how to buy the right laptop here in Nigeria. Read on to learn more.

Buying a laptop in Nigeria: What you need to know

You may have a phone or tablet, but if you really want to do some serious computing work or engage in some advanced gaming, you’ll need a laptop computer. Yes, you can do a lot with your smartphone or tablet, but everything from typing pages of text to compressing videos and playing HD games works better on a laptop.

Now, we understand that you’re on this page to check prices, but there is much more to buying a laptop than cost. So, you need to choose carefully to avoid after-purchase remorse. Here, we’ll be explaining the factors you should consider when buying a laptop. Our aim is to help you make a well-informed buying decision and wind up with a choice that is just right for you.

Best laptop brands in Nigeria

When it comes to laptops, brands are not just names. And there’s a reason why some brands are more popular than others. It’s not mere coincidence; it speaks volumes about quality.

But this isn’t true all the time; some little-known brands can offer better products than well-known brands. With that in mind, let’s now look at some of the best laptop brands available in Nigeria, and what makes each one stand out.

Apple

Apple laptops, though not widely used in Nigeria due to their expensive prices, are made with unmatchable capabilities. They have awesome designs, impressive audio performance and excellent displays. And contrary to what most Nigerians think, they are very easy to use. And more importantly, they offer great performance and have long battery life. Their biggest downside is their above-average prices, but Apple laptops are actually worth their cost. HP

HP Arguably the most popular laptop brand in Nigeria, HP prides itself on consistently producing durable laptops that offer impressive performance and cut across all price points and sizes. HP laptops are versatile and offer a lot of cutting-edge features and designs. And they have batteries that deliver at top capacity for years after purchase.

Dell

Dell Offering products at better prices than HP laptops, Dell is one of the world’s most respected companies in the area of computer manufacturing. If durability, versatility, and value are what you want from your laptop, then you won’t go wrong with a Dell. Like HP, they also have a wide range of products that cut across various sizes, price points, and specifications.

Lenovo

Lenovo This brand has evolved into a well-respected one in the laptop world, and it’s becoming more and more popular even here in Nigeria. They also have durable products that are perfectly suitable for business and other purposes. They are also affordable and come with clear, sharp displays that even other brands won’t provide at the same price.

Acer

Acer This brand is known for affordable prices, yet good quality. While their offers might not be as durable as HP, Dell and Lenovo laptops, Acer laptops will still give you good value for your money.

Asus

This is another very good laptop brand, but their laptops are not really popular here in Nigeria. So, if you come across an Asus laptop, know that you’ve found a good quality product. But the problem with such products that are not common in Nigeria is unavailability of spare parts and repair expertise whenever the need arises.https://hardwarevillagengr.com/about-us/#.XMf8HmhKhPY

Things to consider when buying a laptop in Nigeria

There are many options out there when it comes to choosing a laptop in Nigeria. But not all of them are suitable for you, so you need to carefully select the right option. Here are some factors you must consider when buying a new laptop in Nigeria.

Operating system: Windows vs. Mac vs. Android

For starters, Apple laptops and computers run on the Mac OS, while computers by most other brands run on Windows. But lately, there has been an increase in the number of Android laptops surfacing in the market. For now, Android laptops still come with a good number of limitations and they barely have any advantage over Android smartphones and tablets. So, if what you really want is a computer that will carry out most tasks done handled with computers, avoid Android laptops for now.

Apple laptops are for those who have a thing for sophisticated stuff and love to be unique in everything. Although these laptops have impressive battery life and can do everything you need a computer for, they are usually very expensive are difficult to fix in Nigeria if they have problems. In addition, the Mac OS isn’t compatible with Windows applications, which means you won’t be able to share software and files with most other computer users in Nigeria, since Windows is the most common computer OS here.

Windows is the best option for anyone here in Nigeria. Aside that it’s what most people are used to, using it means you’ll be able to run most software packages and files available in Nigeria. And you won’t have issues fixing your computer whenever it develops a software problem. So, unless you have a strong reason to do otherwise, we recommend that you go with a laptop that runs on the Windows OS.

Size: Full-size laptop vs. Mini Laptop (Netbook)

Mini laptops are becoming more and more popular in Nigeria, and people love them because they are portable and can perform virtually any computing task under the sun. And going by their smaller size, it’s not surprising that they cost less than laptops. However, they come with some downsides. First, they have no CD/DVD drives, so you have to attach an external drive if you need to use one (but the truth is, most people rarely need CD/DVD drives these days). Secondly, mini laptops generally have weaker specifications (processor speed, RAM, etc.) when compared with full-size laptops. And thirdly, mini laptops don’t offer as much screen real estate as you’ll get from a laptop. Of course, there’s a clear difference between a 10.1-inch display and a 15.6-inch display. https://hardwarevillagengr.com/product-category/hp/#.XMf8C2hKhPY

If what you’re looking for is a simple computer that you can use for typing, internet browsing, watching videos, playing some “light” games, and doing some other computing tasks, you’d be fine with a mini laptop. But if you’re a web designer, architect, graphics designer, programmer, or other professional needs a large display, go for a full-size laptop. Also, if you’re a gaming addict or frequently run some heavy applications or games, you’d be better off with a full-size laptop.
