Joining the military is not by force. Its purely vuluntary. But when you join you cant just leave like its a civilian job. An oath has been taken which is legally binding and i also believe this oath was not taken by the recruits at gun point. They chose to take the oath. Court martial is real. If it wasnt there will be no more soldiers on the battle field. They will hunt you down and get you. No hiding place. How you wan hide when there is no money and accommodation.
Soilders have been instructed not to publish any information about the battle field. That's a given world wide.
What he has done is a breach of millitary instructions and besides he has portrayerd the millitary with coward tendency (Note that no millitary will condone this any where in the world)
The soldier in the video is well aware of the repercussions of his action.
Go and read up on this things. Educate yourself. You are one of the reason Buhari mentioned Lazy Youths. READ and RESEARCH boy.

I have 2 blood relations who were in the army. My in-law was also a captain in the army but late now. He died in the hands of BH. He didn't even go to the war front, he was in S&T and was drafted to cargo arms to maiduguri. Someone in his office sold out and BH ambushed them in Kafanchan and made my youngest sister a widow!!

The other two relations, a boy and a girl, the girl works in army finance while the boy was in 21div. The boy was in the war front until February 2015, I and I personally asked him to desert.

He did!

Today, he's running his small but thriving restaurant, his wife delivered a lovely baby to him, and he's doing better than he could ever do in the army.

I'm not a man but a woman.

And as for your relation, the question I put on the table is who the hell asked or better still forced him to join the army. Does it look like a civilian job to him? I also lost a cousin who was in the US army this way. They were ambushed and out numbered. He joined the US army to get his citizenship. It was unfortunate that he died trying.

When boko Haram started they didn't have armoured vehicles and tanks but now they do, how? By seizing it from the military..I put it to you that 10 ISWAP fighters are likely to overcome 10 Nigerian soldiers with the same assault rifles..
