This movie is so intense...

The beauty of this movie is the fact that the monsters are never unveiled, but the viewers are subjected to a finger biting rollercoaster ride.

Bird cage abi bird box

First off, there can be no happy ending. What is to stop the crazies from busting the blind school/orphanage at the end?

Secondly, there is no way in hell you can drive a car in a littered road with only sensors when everyone is blind. The sensors would be overused and useless because it would sense everything around it. The road was littered. With cars, bodies and trash.

Also, the black guy felt like a rapist. Watch the film again and see how he was always asking Sandra bullock jamb questions and staying very close to her (before she gave him green light by allowing him to touch her belly). Pervert. What is sweeting the guy in touch a pregnant woman's belly. A woman he did not impregnate.

Sandra bullock did not lose her pregnancy in the car accident with her sister.

Rowing a boat down a stream or river is difficult with both eyes. Now, I'm to believe it was done while being blindfolded? Lol...and also, hearing is impaired once one enters water.

Then there is the ridiculous monsters that remained mysterious throughout the film. WHICH OTHER MONSTER FILM HAVE YOU SEEN THAT NOTHING ABOUT THE MONSTER WAS REVEALED? WE DIDNT SEE THE MONSTERS. THE ONLY THING WE KNOW IS THAT YOU COMMIT SUICIDE IF YOU SEE THEM AND CRAZY PEOPLE ARE ITS MINIONS.

The worst part of the movie is that it is a copied concept. Copied from the quiet place and a shimalayan movie that I cannot remember.
Book!

OgidiOlu3:

When you said you had a lot to write, I honestly expected some very deep flaws. I respect your opinions nonetheless and I will try to explain some parts to you.

1. About the no-happy-ending. It is a horror film so why would you even expect a happy ending? What makes the film even scarier is the thought that eventually, the remaining people on earth will either be crazy or blind. In fact, humans are gonna evolve and children are probably gonna be born blind in order to survive, or they may even be blinded artificially when they are born. Again, it's horror.

2. I don't have facts to back up your second point and if you do, please share. What I do know is that even self-driving cars use sensors to navigate easily so I wonder why it would be so difficult to drive with only sensors.

3. Seriously? This is a point?! Well, I didn't think the black guy behaved oddly at all and I'm seeing this for the first time on your post. I think he was just caring for a pregnant woman and I don't think there was anything wrong with that.

4. You may be right on this one. Maybe Sandra Bullock should have lost the pregnancy in the accident but then again, I don't think pregnancies are easily lost like that na. It wasn't as if something hit her belly in the accident so this point too may not be that valid.

5. This one is hard to debate and you have made a valid point. I don't have facts but I assume it would be extremely difficult to row blindfolded. Although, I think they were instructed to "follow the currents", no?

6. Yes, this is the one I've been waiting for. You obviously didn't understand the concept of the "monster", did you? The monster takes the form of your deepest fear or your deepest regret such that it drives you into a severe depression that you'd instantly take your own life. It may not have a defined form since everyone's fear and regrets may not be the same. Also, the fact that it does not have a defined form is exactly why it may be impossible to kill. This was also why it was easy to wipe out almost everyone from earth. If you have seen the 2017 movie adaptation of Stephen King's novel "It", you may understand better where they got this "monster" idea.

7. Finally, there's hardly any "original story" anymore. Most of the movies we watch now are recycled. Blue Jasmine was recycled from A Streetcar Named Desire and it received critical acclaim. So many other movies like that.

I am not saying Bird Box was a perfect film, I am only saying that I prefer it to A Quiet Place and I'm gonna write about the flaws of AQP soon.

Thank God my post has been unhidden. I will soon write the flaws in A Quiet Place, JeromeBlack.

Flaws in A Quiet Place.

1. The total number of humans in the movie was not up to seven so we can assume that the monsters wiped almost all the population. We were not shown how the humans were killed by the monsters, we only saw that somehow a family managed to survive. Now, tell me, how can a physical monster (having no supernatural power except its acute sense of hearing) kill everybody and nothing was done to kill them. Are you saying that America has no advanced weapon that can contain and kill these monsters? No one thought to use high pitched sounds to repel them?

2. How did the family survive? If everyone was talking and getting killed, how did they manage to keep a family safe through it all?

3. The deaf girl knew that her hearing aid somehow affected the monsters. She didn't use it when her dad was killed but she remembered it when the monsters invaded their home.

4. The fact that there was barely any dialogue made this movie so boring for me (speaking for myself). I enjoy some Charlie Chaplin silent films like City Lights, etc but A Quiet Place neither passes for a normal film nor a silent one.

5. The father tells his son that the monsters won't hear them if they speak close to loud natural sounds. He knew his wife was pregnant but he couldn't set up a camp or something beside the waterfall for the screams of childbirth.

6. There was a scene where the monster was very close to the woman and she was clearly panting. For a creature with super sensitive hearing, it should have picked up her sounds.

1-4 aren't flaws at all. Creative directors begin their movies that way. It's left for the viewers to use their brains. The hearing aid had minimal effect till put on speaker and it was the father that sacrificed himself, he had to distract the monster. And talking of you not liking dialogue, how is that a flaw? That was pure art.

I watched the movie once but these might clear some of the flaws. No be me direct or write the film but....
1. Why? Because America always has a solution? What did you expect them to do, fly 'silent' planes and kill all the monsters? The number one thing you do when you are in danger is panic and with panic comes noise and with the noise comes the monsters.
2. By figuring out the antidote and sticking to it.
5. How are they going to build the house close to the water without making noise? Aren't you going to carry the materials there?

1. The monsters are basic monsters. No superpowers except super sensitive hearing. The lady killed one with a shotgun, didn't she? America is known to love guns. So, are you saying that because the people panicked, they were all killed and nobody could not shoot them?

2. Which antidote? Keeping quiet?

5. They are supposed to set up tents, not houses. They could pack those tents in their backpacks, couldn't they? At least they showed them moving with backpacks.

A quiet place... wen you talk loudly ...your hunted and you die....that movie nearly turn me to dumb person... I had to go and download subtitle. ...I started talking with low voice for house....

so I think the next movie will be the Deaf place or The scent place..... so that when you listen to something or when you smell something then your dead

lion heart is a dry film focusing on two thing Igbo care about ego and business. moses inwang, omotola kehinde ALTER EGO portrays the effect of child molestation when they grow up, same as kunle afolayan's October 1st on boy molestation which people don't really know. infact October 1st was similar to spotlight a true life story on how Catholic priest use their position to take advantage of people......
lion heart 2/10 those guys were acting and I 4ucking know it. I can't believe David Beckham wife drew peoples attention to this movie just because aunty Gene wore her cloth to the premiere (horse shit)

1. Of course Americans love their guns but if I remember well the monster the woman killed brought more monsters and that was after it was subdued by the hearing aid. Fine, you might kill some but remember, with every shot you take a monster arrives. Your bullet no go finish las las?
2. Yes. The antidote was keeping quiet. There is a scene that showed the articles on the monsters the guy had gathered. Evolution makes you smarter. The same way those in Bird Box figured out how not to fall prey to the unseen.
5. Have you set up a tent before? If you have you would know that you have to hammer things into the ground. You can't just set up a tent without making noise and you can't set it up so close to the water. That would be highly unadvisable.

No movie is perfect so focusing on the negative rather than the postive, especially when it doesn't outweigh the latter is just plain bad belle.

The woman has had three children and that is her fourth labour, so she knows what to expect, which is why she was able to control herself to a large extent. Don't forget that when it became unbearable she screamed, but thankfully at the moment when her family was close by.

1. So because we were only shown 7 people, you outrightly assumed that they were the only surviving humans on earth Don't forget this was an alien invasion, there is a huge possibility that other survivals are practically in hiding & using the same routine as the Abbott family. The man who screamed in the wild was a clear indication that others existed, from the emotions in his eyes, it's kinda clear he probably lost someone dear to him, hence, there was no need for him living anymore.

Secondly who said nothing was done to kill the aliens, can't you see they were bulletproof, if the father was searching for the monsters weak points, isn't it obvious others too were doing same, but none have succeeded. Just hear yourself, if you were in such reality were a monster hunts human by sound, would you ever think, or consider the same sound in which ever form it comes from as a weapon

2 The family survived because they knew what they were up against thus they had a safety routine which they adhered strictly to & also, they had a sound infrastructure in place.

3. At the point her dad was killed, she didn't really know her hearing aid was a weapon.

4. Hmm..so the fact that they didn't make any dialogue in the movie is now a flaw abi

5.There was no need setting any camp close to the waterfall because they already had a plan on what to do and what not to do the moment Emily went into labour, things only went south because their father wasn't there to execute the said plan.

6. Yeah she was clearly panting, but don't forget that there was water on the floor of the room & water was also flowing into the said room, thus making it difficult for the monster to tell which is which.
