Depression vs Life pressures........ How did our parents cope?

Our parents didn't have life pressure.
This generation has unnecessary life pressure ever since this social media & camera phone was invented.
People create fake scenarios, snap a picture of themselves and put it on Facebook or other social media. Your long-throat carries you to see the image on social media. Then you start comparing yourself with them. And when you can't measure up to the "illusion", you become depressed.

Get rid of social media.

Nigerians used to cherish life no matter how difficult or depressed they were. Now, all that has changed. People are committing suicide like their lives didn't matter anymore. It's high time the Nigerian government banned the sales of Sniper because that chemical has become the chemical of choice for quick suicides.

Social media is not the problem, but individuals...... Some people don't get depressed from social media oppression nah?

Social media could undoubtedly be the first culprit for depressions. So much packaging and fake life there that people want to meet upto.In the process,they loose contentment and consequently happiness.

We all go through depression in different ways and circumstances. You might be lucky to have friends and family to cheer you up and save you, so don't judge others that don't have that privilege and just end it.

a good analogy is: assume you have a constant headache and this constant headache happens everyday. I bet you can't go on with it for a month. You just want this pain to go and most time people choose to end their life just to relieve themselves from the pain they are going through. Depression is time bomb, we should always look out for loved ones and not just assume they are fine.

Many depressed people who end up committing suicide don't open up and seek help. Many aren't honest with their feelings.

Surrounded by selfish souls also. How many of them helped him or reached out to him despite knowing all he was facing? The people mostly accusing him of being selfish are mostly the most uncaring beings created also.

Some times it is committment, you can't dine with devil and your life will remain the same. It is only Jesus that gives true joy and happiness. From his social status you can't tell his problem is money because he has many good friends to fall back on and he has a good career that can fetch him goood money. Some people flaunting wealth here and there don't have an iota of joy inside them that is why sometimes you see them hanging from one club to another trying all possible best to make themselves happy but at the end of the artificial joy, the reality sets in.
But there is a way out
You might have soiled your hands but Jesus has not condemned you, he is ever ready to accept you back.
Suicide is not the solution rather speak to someone, confide in someone.

I think the best thing for us to do as human beings Attimes is to drop all we have and stay idle or connect with nature a little bit.

All this technology and fake smiles push people to anxiety.

The peace I do get when I leave my phone and money and move to a lonely place where I don't see anybody but me and nature. That peace I hardly attain it, even in my sleep.

I don't have a girlfriend nor someone who realy cares about my complaints but the contentment inside me and the quiet time and peace my heart do feels is bigger that whatever Love life can offer.

I do say it all the time, if there is one thing we should chase after in life is Peace of mind.

To me love is good but Peace at heart makes me understand life and see it in a beautiful perspective.

Offcourse I have tought about suicide many times, but whenever those tought comes to my mind, the next thing I start thinking is what am I missing in life or what and what is causing such depression. With that I have found out 90% of what makes us depressed are Unrealistic Expectation. We want this, that and other things else, once we cant get them the mind start looking for a way out or consolation. When we cant feed our mind at that moment the nxt thing is we start looking for a way out, even suicide will start looking peaceful.

But solution to any form of anxiety and depression to me is to learn how to lower our expectations and don't always accept whatever our Brain pushes us to belive.
Alway know that in life there is always high and low, scarce and plenty, love and hate, smiles and cries and they all rotate from time to time.

I realy love to marry a girl like me that doesnt take this life serious and place peace with themselves and others as piority in Life.

If you think of the agony yould put your loved ones to. You won't take your life. He wants to escape pain and shame by commiting suicide not minding the fact he will be putting his wife, mother and children in the same shame and pain.

That is selfishness.

There are a lot of ways to commit suicide. Tons of ways! Since apparently these days quite a number of suicide or attempted suicide cases involve the victims consuming Sniper, I felt it would be a proactive measure by the Nigerian government to ban the sales of Sniper. No sir! that's not the way forward. We need to examine and deal with the root cause of depression, preventing it from impacting our quality of life.

It starts from creating awareness, talking about it.
