smileyNigerians should not be deceived with this trash he talked about. You cant fight corruption by mere decentralisation. It requires very strong& clear legislation backed with a reformed judiciary. This is possible if we have a senate not the rogue type we have now led by a thief. We must not have lawmakers who were ex-governors with corruption cases. If DSS report were taken seriously most of them would never be in office. With a reformed judiciary we would get speady trial and with clear cut laws no room for loop-holes to exploited by these thieves to prolong court cases uneccesarily.
Above all we should have the death penalty for corruption cases so would-be perpetrators would think twice

Koolking:
Hashim doesn't understand what corruption is all about. Too much centralised authority breeds more corruption in Hashim's context is wrong assessment. Bringing NITEL and MTN analogies to drive home his point is very flawed.

Corruption in Nigeria is endemic. It's everywhere in every facet of human endeavours in Nigeria. From the family, to the church to the governance. You need policies and strong will to enforce these policies. Practical enforcement that works, not lip services in order to deter people from corrupt practices.

By the way, you can never deal with the origin of corruption. Corruption will always be there. People will always find a way to engage in shady deals for self aggrandisement. You can only find ways to curb corruption. It's not for government alone. The family, society, church, et al have roles to play.

I dislike people who talk too much without understanding the issue at hand. Hashim doesn't seem to understand what frustration is when dealing with a guy who amass billions in Dollars through corrupt dealings. You are not just going to behead a corrupt guy on alleged corruption, but drag him to court to determine his guilt or innocence. At this point, it takes an angel of a judge to convict him because he has all the money to bribe his way out.

How will he decentralised power when the constitution makes it so and until the constitution is reviewed, it will remain so? How will he pay N50k minimum wage when the senate and reps are financial haemorrhage to the system? And prices of crude oil are crashing, which happen to be our major source of revenue. There's infratructural deficiency in the country, which a serious govt that has the interest of a progressive nation at heart must agressively pursue.

We just like to talk, talk, and talk until we get there, we begin to sing a different tune

Now these are the kind of comments I like to read on Nairaland

Atiku style of campaign is called desperation, which is usually a style of campaign by looters and tyrant

You are right. This is strictly an issue based campaign and you will agree with me that Olawepo Hashim is on top of the issues

Only if Nigerians will give this new face a chance. That is a sure step towards a change in how Nigeria is governed, perhaps for the better.

I agree with you. But it starts with you and i. If you want others to give new faces chance, you should be the one to lead in that process. Let's support Olawepo Hashim

Wait and see nairalanders bash him for making sense. Apc and pdp will continue playing us till a third force is an option. We cry for alternative but when it appears, we shut it down.

There are alot of people on nairaland supporting this movement. I think you should too.

Those who think he'll be like every other Nigerian when he gets there are closed-minded.They don't have the single-minded efficacy of progressives.
When a breath of fresh air comes, you savour it,you give that person the benefit of the doubt first.
Britain gave Tony Blair that benefit. So did Americans concerning Obama and France concerning Macron.

I agree

Olawepo Hashim is good. But sadly, the voting footsoldiers in the swing states in the North will prefer a core Northern Muslim.

Only fool will vote APC or PDP.

Enough is enough
Bro you don't have to get angry on APC and categorize them like PDP, they are far different. In APC not all are clean 100% at least even PMB enemies will agree that he is never any time corrupt or untrust worthy. But PDP are not ready to repent at any time, they are just hanging up to continue the conventional unrealistic life and system. Drawing us backward.
