Hello House, just a quick one. I want to purchase a Hyundai Car and I am told by my Car dealer that all I need is purchased receipt. That Hyundai Cars don't come with Custom papers since there have assembly centres here in Nigeria.

Is this true? I would appreciate your responses. Thanks

Now Kia, Hyundai and Toyota that are brought in as brand new from say Coscharis, stallion motors etc don't pay custom duty put exercise duty as they are brought in in multiple units and a one time fee payed for all the consignment, in this case, a certificate is given by the dealer, that certificate will replace custom papers.

So any vehicle bought from such dealers have certificates issued not custom duty.

If the Hyundai you plan to buy was assembled/manufactured in Nigeria and sold through a registered new car dealership in Nigeria e.g. Stallion Motors, as explained above such cars don't need or have custom duty papers, they have a different certificate.

If you're buying a Hyundai used outside the country and imported aka Tokunbo, then you would need customs duty papers, like all other imported Tokunbo vehicles.

For you to know if it's a brand new or tokunbo Vehicle is to run a Vin check(Contact us via WhatsApp to run it
https:///+2348060365068 ) if there is a report from the vin then it's not a brand new vehicle but a foreign used vehicle.

If brand new you need an ascertained receipt/certificate.

Thanks. But won't Custom and FRSC disturb if they don't see the Custom papers? Assuming I am doing inter state travel

FRSC has no business with your custom papers.
