what this means is that.... Academic lecturers ( professors) are normally used as returning officers during elections. 1 Like |

Pruwa:This means that ASUU is not against free and fair election. This means that ASUU is patriotic. After all, the polling units are not lecture rooms. |

SMSguru:I'm for real bro. Do you know that the majority of Nigerian students will be disenfranchised if the election holds without the students on campus?? Do you also know that many students make a little cash working as adhoc staff in the election If ASUU is serious about fighting for the interest of the students, then they should boycott the election. I'm aware of the fact that our public universities need adequate attention but the interest of the students and their poor parents should always be considered by ASUU whenever they make decisions on industrial action. They can't deny students the opportunity to vote in the election or work as adhoc staff when they themselves would be participating in the election. That'll be very unfair 6 Likes 2 Shares |

SMSguru: But partaking in the elections whilst being on strike is not appropriate. They should call off the strike if they want to partake in the Elections. 6 Likes 1 Share |

Indefinite strike should be total!!!![/quote] arabbunkum: jrupa: Mk17: GodblessNig247:ASUU partaking in the election shows that they are patriotic and their strike doesn't have any political tone. If didn't it will send a bad signal that it was political. For those saying that the strike should continue, bear it mind some schools just came back from Christmas break and many are thinking of writing their exams by February 2019. 1 Like |

asuustrike1:after the election , no one will be willing to negotiate with them again. if buhari loose , he won't care about strike till he handover. if he win, no more negotiation for four years since he is not seeking for reelection. students should be ready for a long stay at home. ASUU negotiators must be the most clueless set of people. giving away the only advantage they have. they should be threatening to disrupt the election with protest not this clueless decision 1 Like 2 Shares |

The chairman had earlier said INEC can recruit his adhoc staff as usual being that their asking for VCs as returning officers have always been on individual dealings and not on ASSU platform.... now what was the outcome of the meeting in regards to their request? are we not okay to hear that one? |
