The Senator representing Kaduna Central in the National Assembly, Shehu Sani has reacted on the decision taken by the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, to participate in the forthcoming general election, despite being on strike.

Senator Shehu Sani on Twitter, described the decision of ASUU as commendable, adding that it was a “sacrifice and a patriotic act.”

“ASUU’s decision to participate in the upcoming general elections despite the strike is commendable.Its a sacrifice and a patriotic act,” he tweeted.

Sacrifice and patriotic indeed.... Well what can I say NANS has promised 20m votes... I don't even know why the No work No pay ish was withdrawn.. there must be a real sacrifice for struggle... nobody speaks about the scam called "Acceptance fee" in institutions... Last year NDU SU (Because it's no longer a government so I can't add the"G" once it concerns NDU) paid sacrifices for fighting against the increase in fees.. Right now there is no student unionism in NDU...that's what sacrifice is supposed to look like.. Total and comprehensive strike my bum...

While arguing, ask yourself, who invented internet technology, aeroplane, mobile phone, cars, submarines, spacecraft, ships, manufacturing technologies, oil rigs, oil exploration technologies, democracy, bombs, missiles, automatic rifles, APCs, RPGs, helicopters, TVs, radios, electricity, paved road, street lights, electric iron, engineering and construction equipments like bulldozers, payloaders, tractors, concrete spraying machines, concrete mixers, just name it, it is white man that invented all these things from nothing yet backward thinking blacks argue that white man is not a superior race.

Without Whiteman, blacks would have been living like wild animals in forests. White people brought civilisation and modern way of life to you since hundreds of years ago yet you blacks can't invent anything good to help move the world forward except cramming quoran and carrying bombs to kill your fellow human in the name of religion you know anything about besides what foreign people told you in a foreign Imported holy book, it is shameful being a black person

They answer professors without any scientific invention or research to help make the world a better place in their chosen field.

Honestly, ASUU has no shame. Very greedy people who are after their own pocket. Until Nigeria students take to the street to occupy everywhere and drag the stupid lecturers and govt to settle each other, they will continue to suffer. ASUU members can't attend to students, but can do INEC ad-hoc work for money. Are they not supposed to boycott everything concerning govt. till they are being settled?

So anything Shehu Sani tweets automatically grace the FP of Nairaland.. are the mods kidding me?

Why is he in severe pains now?

Ordinarily, ASUU had no business stopping its members from partaking in the election, so I don't really understand why this is being debated or celebrated.

Their participation in the election is not necessarily part of their statutory duties which are teaching, research and administration, all of which are within the four walls of their universities.

I really hope that INEC Chairman is not up to a game to use ASUU to cover up for their planned rigging.

PDP and Atiku had better shine their eyes well well.
