SoundCity MVP Awards: Peruzzi shades  Teni over winning "Best New Artist"

Nigerian singer, Peruzzi has reacted to Teni winning the “Best New Artist” yesterday at the 2018 SoundCity MVP Awards.


The singer said that he made more money last year than any other new act in Nigeria, also noting that he personally feels he worked the hardest than any other new act.

He wrote in a now deleted Tweet;

Personally I’d say I worked the hardest last year than any other new act, same way I made more money last year than any other new act in the country. There’s a way I see myself, it’s MY race, theres a way I’m running it. Focus on yours. Facts over hype. It’s really simple

If keeping up with the noise and junk churned out by our local musicians equates exposure, then I don't ever want to be exposed. Had he released any music that was noteworthy on his own last year, I would have heard about it one way or the other. All the time his after sex video shot him to the spotlight for a few days, not once was his music referenced. So what exactly does he sing that makes him feel he is on the same wavelength as the new acts that were recognized at the recently concluded awards?

Mention any of your best musicians that sings better than Brymo, Nonso Amadi,BEZ,Cobham. These guys release good musics on a regular yet they aren't given awards.


You not recognizing Peruzzi is as a result of you having limited exposure and your desire to love wack musics. A lot of musicians got into the limelight by doing a cover of an already established act, so Peruzzi featuring Davido isn't bad.


I hope you won't cry here when he wins the Headies award for next rated.
