good. So in retrospect, ragnarok was lucky then. C0me on, u guys speak of luck like every business idea isn't built on the principle of luck. Aquaman made bucks in cinemas and u guys are all doing like luck is a bad thing. Films have been made, many that did well bey0nd what the producers could imagine e.g star wars, others that failed n0 matter how great they were e.g edge of tom0rrow. Star wars wouldn't have c0me to be had George Lucas n0t believed in luck. And luck was what made star wars a house old name. Many great films have been made that didn't do well, that's luck. Many bad films have been made that did way bey0nd its potential, luck also. Aquaman isn't a perfect film, just entertaining. I didn't very much like the film but you all pretending like it doing well was a sin makes me think no one's going to enter heaven, cos according to u guys, luck itself is a sin.

Last time I checked Ragnarok dodged Star Wars by releasing a month earlier.

Star Wars 9 comes out next December.
Avatar 2 comes out in December 2020.

Marvel should release a movie featuring a B-list character to compete with these heavyweights since they ain't afraid of heavy guns blazing competition.

If Marvel get liver they should release a movie on December 2019, 2020 or 2021.

If someone told you 10 years ago that a movie featuring Batman and Superman wouldn't crack a billion but Aquaman released in December would do it.... Would you have believed that.


Stop downplaying Aquaman box office success.

There is no such thing as December favoured it or it had no competition.

All that excuses is pure trash.

Aquaman exceeded every box office expectations.
Don't forget that this is first DC movie coming after JL flopped and generated so much negative buzz.

superman and batman are 2 very popular characters that every fan or audience have a sense of entitlement to. They have their pre determined idea of how the characters are supp0sed to be and portrayed, and scriptwriters/directors have their's. The studio would want to manipulate that and use it to their advantage which means no creative c0ntrol for writers/directors cos the studio wants the films to do better. N0w, the studio has its goal; to make m0ney, the creatives; to make an entertaining piece, the audience; they d0n't want anything changed fr0m these characters, n0t even for the sake of art. So there u go. No batman film or supes film that would be released that will go without being divisive.
