Between 23 and 30 is best for ladies and between 25 and 33 for guys. A bit later is not bad too.

There goes my problem with your view. You are picking and choosing and not taking my opinion word-for-word. Was the Internet the only place I said you pluck your ideas from? Did I not give instance(s) of matriarchal cultures? Biko, i'm letting you to your resolve.m I sell property, marine vessels, cars, agro products, etc. Let's talk that one, ejoor ma

And that is where you people miss it, who said it was a supremacy tussle?.May I ask who and who set those cultural patterns ,what gender makeup ?,maybe then we can begin to know the root of the issue.

I can't help what you perceive. You cited some tribes and assumed I had no idea of what I was talking about and was plucking ideas from the Internet,so now who has the misguided assumption?. The gender equality bill is for Nigerian women not certain tribes ,so I dont even see the need why because certain tribes are not gender biased others don't get the right to be liberated.

And by the way you sound educated, don't you think its rather stereotyped to call me a feminist?why does a person have to be tagged a name just because the choose to have a conversation on a topic?.

Honestly, you really didnt have to start shaking your head, what For?Its a conversation,is this how you go around shaking your head when having conversations? Weird undecided shalom to you too bro.

First, how can a gender equality bill be for (Nigerian) women? Is gender equality not supposed to be for all gender (male and female)?
Second, you called yourself a feminist by collusion. That is the crux of the matter.
Third, why can't feminism frown at favourable matriarchal bestowments on women? Why are they all out to squeeze men of their testicle and make it a tug of war?

You feminists live by misguided assumptions. I listed a lot of things to show you that how people are treated depended largely on cultural patterns and not necessarily a gender supremacy tussle, you picked the one you thought best for your argument, presumed what that choice should be and lashed out. Then confirmed that your environment is what influences your approach to life. Smh. When you are willing to learn or come up with better cosmology about life, I'm always data-ready. Shalom
Brother, find better thing to do with your time and leave those ones.

in the end you revealed your true bias, so you went through the entire gender equality bill and concluded it was out to squeeze men by their testicle? This is why my first response said a lot of you have it wrong, I am sure you haven't even seen the bill in question. I will not entirely lay the blame at your feet, some of the so called feminist dont even know what it stands for . @bolded ,the crux of the matter is what both genders have missed judging by the look of things .

This world was made for men and women I don't see why one has to think the other is squeezing them by the testicles and the other thinks being grabbed by the throat.
This is the part that make me so sad. An amicable dialogue and compromise is what should be .
Have a nice day

If her husband reads this (and he will), she has given him the key to her entire existence. From now until eternity. I hope and hope the man is a very good person to handle such glorification, and not turn back to hurt her with it.

All is well.
Your ideology is seriously flawed. She is a fulfilled woman, her life didn't revolve around her husband and still doesn't, she still has career goals, she is just happy to be married. Do you have to bring your negativity to this again? Smh

There is definitely nothing wrong in admitting that someone is the best thing that happened to you, it is not a sign of weakness nor abdication of control. But I get your philosophy considering you're a cynic. I perceive you will be like this.

Hubby: I love you
You: Thank you

Cos, you think admitting how you feel will make you vulnerable.

Priscy01:
Nigerian filmmaker, Ada Slim has described marriage as an 'achievement' as she got married to the most 'perfect man on earth'.

According to the US based actress who will clock 34 later this year, 'as Alexx Ekubo say make we dey talk our truth in 2019, oya here is my most profound and vulnerable public post ever. 2018 I got married in full to the most perfect man on earth'.

See her full post below;

I officially welcome you to 2019! Year of fulfillment for us all. I thank God for the gift of life & health in 2018, my BEST yr so far. As Alexx Ekubo say make we dey talk our truth in 2019, oya here is my most profound & vulnerable public post ever. 2018 I got married in full to the most perfect man on earth! Wow that’s a great “ACHIEVEMENT”

YES marriage is an achievement for me!

I set my alarm clock for yr 28th bt God’s time is the best, desperately waiting for extra 5yrs was somewhat overwhelming. Not 100% fulfilled but I still feel lucky & blessed; Better half-caste like me ....Born American citizen & raised full Naija style; built my own house in my 20’s; still hussling hard for greater career goals in my 30’s; yet to buy my dream car before 40; taking care of a couple of orphans & less privileged kids; made blockbuster movies with the topmost A-Lists in Nollywoood; bagged my Masters degree from the best University in Newyork; was abt to grab my PHD in same Uni but the “Perfect Husband Degree” found me instead. I was tired of being single.

Nevertheless, a private jet & a home in Ikoyi won’t hurt, bt 1st, the kids to rock them with & a father figure for them, as an authentic traditional, conservative, religious, native Nwafo Igbo...ohh my ovaries...can’t wait to have my 1st biological child with my 1st Love in my 1st marriage.

For all my mature single Divas praying God for same “Achievement” 2019 is your year!.

For my under 20s who set their alarm clock for 28/29, pls move it backwards oh....don’t repeat my mistake cos....husband is not like money in the bank that you withdraw at Will, once you clock 30+ odikwa very very risky ooh, those eggs don’t wait for no slayer; consider dating time, wedding planning time, pregnancy time....you might be fast approaching 35 b4 having ur 1st child....May 2019 I will be 34, U see...hopefully, my 1st child b4 I’m 35

I knw age is nothing but a numb bt not for those eggs....I personally lowkey admire Mercy Aigbe, Omotola, Iyabo Ojo & others who just turned 40 but already blessed wit teen seeds....I know they had their own trials too by starting so early, bt dear lil ones, you can meet us halfway"

It is deliberate propaganda to malign all feminist and fool the uninformed.
It has gotten so bad that some will condemn the entire police for a male colleague collecting
bribe, but when it is a female, they blame feminist.

When two women quarrel, they also blame "feminists".
I am glad you see through it.A lot of people despite knowing the truth choose to feign ignorance on the matter and twist its meaning just to slight the opposite sex . I dont even know why we have to be at each other's throat when earth was meant to be occupied by both gender. Its just sad.

True, some women think its a means to "squeeze their husbands by the testicles". It has turned into a men bashing movement trying to berate the importance and relevance of one gender to the other when it should be a means to encourage healthy dialogue and reaching compromise to foster better relationship between both gender. Hopefully this will change when we pass the authentic information instead of misguided information.

It’s her life. It doesn’t apply to everyone. Nor should it.

Congratulations to her.

She should focus on celebrating and enjoying her achievement rather than give unsolicited advice to others.

And for the mor0ns (you already know yourselves) that will try to use her words to shame other women, you already know you’re sstupid.
Don’t make us have to tell you again what you already know.
Should I say Evil feminist? grin grin grin

Lool, that's how some women behave when they get married. I came here ready to applaud her that she has the right to see marriage as an achievement if she so pleases, but no,
She had to come and spoil it with her advice no one asked for. undecided

Waiting for the feminist crew...
Err... feminist crew did not say marriage should not be an ‘achievement’ what we are against is if society makes it a compulsory achievement for ALL women.

For some it is an achievement, which is fine but for some it is not. We just want society to let women be and let them chose and enjoy their own path. ALL women can’t like the same thing. I also think it’s in the best interest for Nigerian men to allow Nigerian women decide their own path without ridicule and pressure, in a society where women are not allowed to, they create a lot of bad wives, not all women make good wives.

Good for her that marriage is an achievement, I am sure she will make a good wife.
