The last time I checked it was 56%. Where did you get 75% from? grin

Electricity access rate in Kenya is the highest in East Africa according to the latest report from the World Bank tracking global achievements in sustainable energy for all.

According to The Energy Progress Report covering the period up to 2016, electricity access rate in Kenya stood at 56 percent, compared to Tanzania at 32.8 percent, Rwanda at 29.37 percent, Uganda at 26.7 percent and Burundi at 7.5 percent.

The electricity access rate in the country stood at 73.42 percent as at the end of April 2018 , owing to various national electrification projects that have been undertaken by Kenya Power.

now its 2019 grin

There is electricity in Mandera Wajir and El Wak. Kenya is not Nigeria where without a generator you can't access electricity.

Here is a picture of a Mandera street at night. grin grin grin grin

You think street light powered for political reasons will lighten the thick darkness in those cities wallowing in perpetual darkness, huh?

Why is it that all Nairobi buildings are fused together in the CBD.Can't skyscrapers be spread across the entire City instead of just the Cbd.

I will still continue to use Lagos as an example of a developed city.

I will use Apapa as another case study for Nairobi.

The whole Nairobi should boast of development with high rises and not only in Westland and upper hill.

The whole island is considered sophisticated speaking in.terms of development and Nairobi's developed part isn't still up to 10% of the Island.

Lagos continues to give its inner cities a modern outlook because virtually everywhere is almost urban.

Lagos is generating power on its own, almost bigger than what the entire Kenya generates. Lagos urbanization is just so humongous than Kenya and yet Kenyans say Lagos has slums, not forgetting the huge no of slums in Nairobi with less population and less urbanization.

Kenyans will come and say Lagos is ranked amongst worst cities.
Lagos can only be ranked worst because of power issues and its population and nothing more.

Nairobi is far from being developed

73% is equal to just two states in Nigeria. Meaning the 73% in Kenya will throw Nigeria into thick darkness. grin

boy stop hallucinating

the first schools in Ghana were 40 years ahead before a school was even built in Nigeria

lets not go back to that arguement

Show us the schools.

Besides, there was no single area in Ghana that could read and write before European came but our country had literate people long before the British came.

So, stop lying here. grin

It's busy because it's serving other countries. Once, they look other way, the port will become moribund. grin

Don't worry, when I show street views of inner places in Lagos, you will know you need to pray for Nairobi.

Only few African cities are well developed.

Most African cities are known for their developed part(CBD) with the rest of others abandoned,an example is Nairobi.

Lagos is growing too fast with hyper projects. If I tell you Lekki alone in 5 years time will be developed than.the whole Kenya, you might not believe me.

Just sit down and wait.

Its time to continue. with using Uyo city to compare with Nairobi

The only developed African cities outside of Nigeria is north Africa, the others are just cbd and slums and villages. No wonder the masais and their Ashanti and Zulu friends envy Nigeria.

Are you under the influence of cheap drugs or weeds.Idiot of a stupid citizen of a bleeped up country continuing bearing the name given to them by their slave masters and mistresses called Nigeria. They even named that river and now oil is a curse to this country.Between you and Ghana who is older.Who experienced self governance first and independent. Is 1957 the same as 1960.And Ghana became a republic in 1960 and Nigeria gained theirs three years after. So tell me,who is under whose shadows.

Ghana was colonized earlier. That's long before Nigeria yet all the regions had self rule in 1957 though it started since 1954. grin

Nigeria is set to become the African tech giant. We have recently caught up with RSA in the number of tech hubs not forgetting that theirs was 2x ours and we d current rate of growth we would double theirs in no less than 2yrs. And we just overtook them closing the most number of tech deals

Nigeria already has the largest online shoppers on the continent thus boosting logistics(small holders are taking the most advantage). While others boast of conventional malls. We already have by far the largest online retailer in Africa(jumia) who is dominating the African market and with the re-branding of konga and the likes of payporte it's definitely game on

We have the largest blogs and forums in Africa like this one(nairaland).

With initiatives like the code Lagos by the LASG it can only get better

What is code Lagos?

Most Lagos streets gat good roads, good side walks, streets lights, good drainage systems

Kenyans should show us street views of "Other areas " of Nairobi wink wink grin

Out of 198 million Nigeria's population 78 million are not connected. The remaining 120 million people are connected but it is still more than the population of Kenya and Ghana combined.

However, Kenya with 50 million population still has 28 million of its people living and wallowing in darkness. shocked
