Thanks a bunch for suggesting this app. I've been able to get a valid Canada number. Getting credits is a bit cumbersome, but hey, I can't complain coz it works. Cheers Tojued: |

Trick question please. Must children be with their parents to access benefits such as CCB and child care subsidy? If i do a soft landing, and leave my school-age children with my sister who is a PR, will the children qualify for such benefits? Will their benefits be based on my family tax/income bracket, or on my sister's household tax/income bracket? |

WoodcrestMayor:Thanks for your great advice. I'm a banker in Nigeria looking to move to Canada.... I'm just preparing for the exams and the whole process. The exam you spoke about, is it a major requirement for clinching a banking job? Can I have the site for the exam pls..... So from your advise one needs to look for the province that promises more jobs in your professional line to migrate to? Not just provinces where entry seem much easier than others |

Obtay:Go for after Degree Nursing ... It's two years (6 semester) but it full time and intensive (Check out university of Alberta) Some university call it___ Post Degree Nursing, check university of Saskatchewan. Google will give you additional info, some school offer part time. All in all, Nursing is a lucrative field in Canny. There are prerequisites but with your educational background most likely it would be waived. |

I wouldn't say it's a major requirement but it sure is a good way to get in. It is mostly sales here so and the certification give you rights to talk about mutual funds which is a big part of the everyday sales here. There are tons of certifications you can look at as it solely depends on what area of banking you want to go into. If you're aiming for something in Toronto Head offices, it will be a different ball game. I just did mine to get into the system. As soon as I settle well into the job, I'll start making career change moves. Everybody in my branch except the tellers have at least one sales certification. It's kind of regulated here so you need certifications for financial planning to be a financial planner etc. For the question about entry, I don't really get what you mean by "...where entry seem much easier". I submitted my application in 2014 via the FSWP stream and I finally got my visa in 2018 . The idea then was that you could land anywhere. Has that now changed? For the website, it is csi.ca. Take your time to read through the site as there are different career paths for the exams. slydog: |

. Toronto was a long queue and POF check was smooth…officer only asked what I came in with. I was about to show him and he said I shouldn’t bother showing him. Ethiopian airline guys advised me to change my flight to one that had long connecting time for Toronto/Edmonton. I heeded their advice and I was just in time for my flight to Edmonton after immigration stress. In fact, I had to run as the flight was about leaving. I would have been put on another flight without any extra charge but my people in Edmonton had cleared their itinerary for my arrival so it wouldn’t have been fair.
I had my dollar MasterCard on me and I still had some change on it. I paid and moved on to buy Wi-Fi access for the duration of my flight. I started messaging friends and family to give present location and all.
For two months, I read and did nothing else; not even job applications. After about 800pages and some practice, I took the exam in July and I’m still grateful I passed at first attempt.
The networking event was quickly followed by a proper interview a week later and in the second week of October, I got an offer for an Intern position. I resumed 3rd week of November and I will be in training till summer. It’s a very intensive one but I’m glad I got it.
) because I learnt that in naija but I never had my car so I’ll be ready for my road test come September.
