LLobiorah:Economics has no respect for your feelings. He who borrows must pay back. He who exhaust borrowing chances can't borrow further till he pays. What is happening in enugu is not bad. Government is a continuum. If the loan is paid the governor at that time will borrow again and set enugu 20 years ahead while others struggle to catch up. Ebonyi is doing well, learning enugu style but it comes with a price. Next governor will be financially handicapped. |

Enugu is a failed state under Ugwuanyi. The man does nothing than wasting state funds buying newspaper awards. Even those few roads done by Sullivan have all gone bad now with craters and potholes.Agbani road is a total mess right now just like most part of the town. Sullivan borrowed heavily and just resurfaced few existing roads 'substandardly'. Ebonyi under Umahi is doing well, at least building new infrastructures like flyovers and bridges just like Obiano did in Anambra. The rest of the SE should learn from Obiano and Umahi. LLobiorah: |

aca77: If mixed well the roads last for longer, that's for sure! And for a state with loads of limestone and its own cement plant like Ebonyi, it would make economic sense as well! Cement roads built in Nkalagu during the Okpara years are still intact today as we speak! |

aca77: Concrete roads are highly durable and more environmentally friendly as compared to asphalt roads. However asphalt paving costs far less than concrete paving. Also, asphalt road provides a little better safety of the vehicle against snow and skidding. |

More insight. With over 700 kilometres of road criss-crossing every part of Ebonyi state and dotting every enclave, the governor has succeeded in shortening traveling distances across the state.
