Monday was a big day for California's new governor, Gavin Newsom, as he delivered his inaugural address to the crowd — but though he'd risen to the highest executive office in one of the country's most populous states, he was soundly upstaged during his speech.

His son stole the show during his inauguration speech in Sacramento. Two-year-old Dutch wandered onto the stage, much to the audience's delight.

Mind of the child: simple, innocent and uncluttered. When they focus on daddy or mummy, nothing else in the world matters.

I wonder what a 2yo is still doing with a pacifier.

That and clear indiscipline.

You wouldn't see this happening with an African leader though, a child of 2 would be a great grandchild of our leaders given their average age so probably not even at the ceremony.

Let's also not forget that California's economy is the 5th largest in the world. They are basically a superpower within a superpower.
