May 29th is a public holiday but every 4 years whenever there is handing over of one government to another |

asuustrike1:Democracy day has been changed to June 12, but handing over will still be May 29. The constitution has to be amended for that which I doubt, will be supported. Handing over in some states is not on democracy day. In other words, it's not compulsory handing over is done on democracy day. My point is that whenever there will be handing over of the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT to a new one Or swearing in of the incumbent, the FG has the perogative by law to declare a public holiday. This year 2019, May 29th will be a public holiday. No public holiday on May 29th in the next 3 year. June 12 however is a statutory yearly holiday. 1 Like |
