Kudos to the Nigerian Army. We need more of this.

145 Battalion refers to the name of the unit, not the number of troops.

E.g. There's 1 Division, Nigerian Army (with headquarters in Kaduna). It doesn't mean there's only one soldier in the division.
Help me educate some of the dumb youth please. I also expect that an intelligent person trying to comment about the number of insurgents killed in the post to visit the Facebook account of the post before showing their ignorance

An intelligent person can see that 5 people can not carry all the arms shown in that picture.

And to assume 145 Battalion means 145 soldiers, Bro u need a brain transplant.

Let’s know your motives for calling Nigerian Military the weakest on earth ?

Even America is yet to defeat Taliban, Al Quaida or ISIS.

War against terrorism is not the fictional movies u watch.
Exactly, i always say that war against terrorism is a war against an ideology not people, that's very difficult to wipe out.

The Nigerian military should quash this insurgency once and for all.

This back and forth is disgusting.

This revelation by you now heightens the shame because instead if the 145 soldiers posited erroneously by ikechu12, we are seeing that a battalion consists of even more soldiers of up to 300-800 all killing a meager 5 terrorists. I am not undermining their efforts but this is like celebrating mediocrity.

Soldiers from the battalion engaged the terrorists. It wasn't the entire battalion.

It's like saying that soldiers of 81 Division arrested thieves in Lagos. It doesn't mean that the entire division arrested the thieves. (Do you know how large a division is?)

Oga...a division is larger than a battalion! The story said "battalion" and from the photos there, they are close to 200 if not more! QED!

No where in the story did they state the number of troops (I now feel that you know this, but you are just arguing for the sake of arguing). All they did was to identify the unit that carried out the operation.

Why destroy their weapons only to go and buy substandard weapons at inflated price.

Let's use them to stock our armory.

grin I gave you an example to show that all they did was identify the unit, but you are trying to run away from the example grin.

It is common that the unit that carried out a military operation is identified so that they can receive the apropriate reward. In this case, the operation was carried out by troops of 145 Battalion. That obviously does not mean that it was carried out by the entire battalion, neither does it mean that it was carried out by 145 soldiers.

If you still don't understand this, then nobody can help you. Nobody can wake a man who is pretending to be asleep.

Good point, but I don't think less than 50 soldiers make a battalion.

Oga abeg leave me this morning.

I don hear. Infact, it was only one soldier that killed the terrorists which were over 1000 in number. Are you happy now?

It wasn't the entire battalion that carried out the operation. They simply named the unit that the soldiers came from.

I gave an example above. The Nigerian Army stated that troops of 81 Division, Nigerian Army, arrested 5 oil thieves in Ogun State.

A division is made up of more than 10,000 troops. The story did not mean that 10,000 troops arrested 5 oil thieves. They simply identified the unit that the soldiers came from.

81 Div has its headquarters in Lagos and covers Lagos and Ogun states.
