UI accepts 2:2 for Masters (Academic and Professional), and 3rd class for Professional Masters (only) and PGD.
Score 40 and above in the English test, pass the departmental tests too if available and you're in. Best of luck.

If unemployment is ur main reason for msc, forget it. Start biz with ur proposed school fee.

If it is scholarship then u are good to go.

Wish OP would take this advice. It would be better if I had invested the money I spent on MSC on biz.

MSc doesnt really guarantee job anymore, especially if you're getting to 30+ of age.

all university take 2.2 graduates, depending on your course of study some course allow third class graduates direct masters.

No course or university will accept a third class result for direct masters without pgd in Nigeria.

Tell us the Department you graduated from, and from which university... federal, state or private?.

Which field of study are you planning to go for the Master Degree?

Is it academic masters or professional masters that you want to pursue?

Before application, go to the university and discuss with the HOD of concerned department. HODs are in charge of post graduate admissions, and you need to discuss with him or her for a go ahead to apply or not. Thank me later.
federal university of technology, owerri , studied geology..... Professional masters and would like to study petroleum engineering.

Which university admits a 3rd class graduate directly to a masters degree programme?

You can apply for your Master's degree program at ABU, Zaria. They accept 2.2 with a CGPA of 2.50. But you must all write a screening exam before been offered admission for the program....

I am sure the word "destiny " does not exist in your dictionary. You actually think that everybody is fighting for just survival.

Why is it that Africans always reduce everything to naira and kobo?

The guy wants to pursue postgraduate program which will prepare him for future opportunities in the academic field.

He will carry out quality research that will positively affect the way of life of people around the world and most importantly address pressing issues in the society.

By the grace of God, he will impact knowledge to our children who will become undergraduates in the future.

Among others!

While I have respect for people in the business world, everybody must not be a business man.

If we continue to tell people that all that matters in life is money, Africa will remain in perpetual darkness.

Finally, people get job with masters even at the age of 50? Yes you heared me! At age 50 you can still get a good job.

Hello, just felt I should interject that getting a degree is not synonymous with making money legitimately. They are mutually exclusive.

The earlier people get this, the better.

And what is better?

Life is a risk and not taking risk is a bigger risk.

Who told you that master will not give him job?

Who told you that once you start a business you will automatically become a millionaire?

How many businesses and companies have failed just last year?

There is no short cuts in life. You must pay the price before you enter your rest.

Master's isn't based on grade it's based on CGPA..
For example 3.0 CGPA is a 2.2 graduate but he can go for direct Master's

You are right but the knowledge acquired from getting degree is the reason you have a business or anything .

Imagine a world without Doctors, engineers, scientists and the rest.

Tell me anything that can survive without these guys. Starting from the clothes you wear to your shoes and even the food you ate this morning.

Just tell me how man will not return to primitive days without education.

Go back to your village, find a swampy parcel of land and start growing fruits and vegetables on a medium to large scale, supply your farm products to local markets, and within 2-3 years you would be smiling on your way to and from your bank, own your own car and foundation of your own house laid. I know a UK returnee (my own sibling) with two masters degrees - one from Germany and another from UK - who did precisely what I described above. Five years into this business, he’s diversified and is currently living big. Take it or leave it. Shalom.

Why are you not doing it?

The UK returnee used the knowledge he gained to take his business to that level. Also, many people have done what he did and did not succeed.

Hey bro,

Kindly re-read my comment you quoted.
Now read yours again and tell me if there's any relationship with the two? Cos I can't find any.

We are saying two different things!! You didn't have to quote me.

Now I reiterate my point: If making money (legitimately) is your priority, you definitely need to be educated but you don't necessarily need to have a degree of any sort/formal education to achieve that. This is 2019 for crying out loud.

I hope this is clearer? Thanks. smiley

the 2.2 must start from 3.0, let him know fully well

Not necessarily!
I had 2.94 as my “CGPA” and I’m through with my MA. All you require is an examination.. Even with a 3rd class, u can start ur MA with a postgraduate diploma for a year and then start ur MA fully.

Poor analogy! How do people get degrees without education?

BTW, I started by acknowledging that you are correct and then took my time to draw your attention to the importance of education.

Let me help you :

People who don't have degrees also make money legitimately.
