HOW TO DETECT FAKE VEHICLE PARTICULARS (LAGOS PLATE NUMBER). There are lots and lots of unscrupulous elements that defraud unsuspecting members of the public by processing fake documents that are not in the government records. I encounter at least one new case every week of fake documents especially when people come to renew their documents in my office. For a trained eye you can easily detect a fake documents but trust me, many can’t even most police officers may not easily tell the difference. Hi guys, I am in a situation right now. While moving from my old apartment to my new one. My daughters disposed my original vehicle papers alongside other waste without them knowing. I only got to find this out after 2 months of moving into my new apartment. Now i am only left with photocopies which are always in my car and the vehicle license, insurance and road worthiness which i did a few weeks ago. Missing documents are my CMR, Allocation of Reg. Number (Old plate Number), Proof Of Ownership Certificate and one other paper i can't really see clearly due to the photocopy being old...it looked like some kind of receipt/fees paid for.
Can these missing documents be replaced ? Incase i intend selling the car and to avoid issues of ownership and all.

Change of Ownership with Existing Plate number
When you sell you vehicle, the plate number is yours forever (as in your property).
You are expected to remove your plate number and keep the original papers while you handover photocopies of the papers to the new buyer. He need the copies to process change of ownership.
This means if you sell your old vehicle and removed the plate number on it, you can use the number again on another (newly purchased Nigerian used) vehicle
