The general appearance of a priest and a nun is horror filled. The serene environment and the fact that all catholic churches have cathedral graves in them.

In my opinion its because of the history the Catholic church has, it has existed looong before other sects of Christianity, it has existed during the time of witchcraft, vampires and satanism, it was the Catholic church that banned the practice of witchcraft and the worship of the devil called 'Satanism' so its only fitting that they'd be used when it comes to horror,

the rich history of the Catholic church makes it better at performing most rituals that cannot be performed by other sects, rituals like exorcism that can only be performed by an ordained priest.

and also LATIN. The rituals don’t sound anywhere near so impressive in English as they do in Latin, especially when chanted in plainsong.

Try reading it aloud in a commanding voice and you’ll see what I mean.

P.S: the writers and directors of those movies are mostly roman Catholic.

I think it's because Catholic churches are the one who once practiced exorcism ubiquitously and later stopped the practice. It's seen as a big deal because Rome is a big entity in the world and that's where some horror executions took place.

Its because Catholic Churches were the ones powerful enough to go against the witches uprising in europe back in 17th and 18th century.

Some of those witches came back to haunt them. and frankly they were the only ones with such raw power to go against demons head on... we were all gifted the power to cast out demons. they were the ones to had the balls to use that gift and. to see what we wont wanna see. to confront fear.

some of those horror movies are real life stories.. movies like conjuring... annabelle... the nun... insiduous... atticus institue. and many more. happened real life.

exactly, what most Christians fail to understand is that the most spiritual church on earth is the Catholic, they have been battling against the devil and his antiques from time, Protestant pastors just sell scripted deliverances and miracles, they turned spirituality into showbiz. those movies are real life stories told, especially the curse of the nun, the evil nun 'valak' has been made reference to in other movies.

The horror movies you refer are all produced and directed by Europeans and Americans and the theme of the movies is based on their history and culture. In European history, the Catholic church was very prominent, particular during the dark ages when Europeans were still essentially very superstitious. It was the Catholic church that started the Inquisition and promoted exorcism of demons from the possessed among all other odious and unjustifiable practises of that time.

If you watch Chinese made horror movies or the ones from Nigeria etc, you will notice that the Catholic church or any church (in some cases) don't even get a mention.

naija get horror movies?

what do they want to act that will scare me self undecided ?

There is a lot of hidden things about Catholic church people don't know and they don't want people to know.

Read about crusades and if you watch most films that put their settings on crusades you will notice it is always roman Catholic Church they use and how their leaders are selfish and power hungry.
I believe there was a reason why some people break out to form the Anglican and pentecostal.

and how has the Protestant been any different from those selfish and power hungry Catholic's.

Oh! Martin Luther would be turning in his grave right now.

https://www.quora.com/What-is-the-difference-between-the-Catholic-Church-and-the-Roman-Catholic-Church
In case you no get data to opne the link..here is a snippet..

Technically the “Catholic Church” is greater than the communion centering on the Bishop of Rome, better known as the Pope. Catholic just means universal, and the Roman church is just one part of that universal church.

The problem is, of course, that that Roman church calls itself the “Catholic Church”, implying that it is the same as the universal church, which even according to its own teachings is not true. Even Rome admits that other churches not within its own communion are part of the universal church and have valid sacraments. The most obvious example is the Orthodox Church. A lesser-known example is the Union of Utrecht of Old Catholic Churches in Europe.

Old Catholics and Anglicans thus tend to insist on calling the Roman communion the “Roman Catholic Church”, in order to emphasize that they too are part of that Catholic Church while not being under the jurisdiction of the Bishop of Rome. Some also call the universal church the “Church Catholic” to avoid confusion with the Roman Catholic Church.

The fact that you submitted to quora's authority tells me your knowledge of church history is deficient (no insult implied). Ekiti state used to be part of Ondo state, but broke away, willingly, for some reasons...If an Ekiti man now claims to be a citizen of Ondo, based on the former ties, won't you look at him with disdain? If Biafrans successfully break away, would they still be referred to as Nigerians? Anglicans and other Christians (orthodox and many more) who claim to be Catholics willingly broke away from the church sometimes back for reasons of their own...is it not then ludicrous to call them Catholics? Every single church combined forms the universal church (because of the uniting factor, Jesus), but the original, and one church intended by Christ, formed by Christ, traceable to the Apostles, owns the name Catholic, and in which the fullness of salvation resides, is that of the Pope. If any church wants to be Catholic again, let it go back home. Wherever the Successor of Peter is, there is the Catholic Church.

This has nothing to do with wether the catholic church is the oldest like some people here think. It's simply because when it comes to exorcism, they have more elaborate rituals or procedures coupled with its symbols, which makes a much more interesting scenery than having a sight of one casually dressed pastor merely laying hands on the victim to perform the act.
The catholic church being the largest christain religious body also plays a factor as well.
