The best remembrance is to take good and proper care of the welfare current crop of army personnel, provide them with modern weapons and pay their gratuity and pensions as at when due.

A commendable move by the military quite unlike other years where no information about the closure of roads are disseminated. People just wake up and jam horrible traffic jams all over the city center.

I remember when today used to be a fun day for schools and the attachment of red ribbon on our uniforms. Even the touchy TV jingle was never left out and it goes thus;

Today we remember our fallen heros, Nigeria remembers u,
U laid ur lives for truly just cause, and Nigeria remembers u,
We salute u, ur courage we adore that Nigeria may be one, strong, united, sovereign state, and Nigerians remembers u...
(Then comes the sounds of Three canon shot) Gboa!!! Gboa!!! Gboa!!!

Indomie generations... Sorry u missed some memorable moments in Nigeria.

Nigerian soldiers, I don't have pity for them. If you see how they maltreat civilians you will begin to ask are these really Nigerian soldiers or North Korean soldiers? With little altercation, the next thing {{{gbbaa}}} for your face. I don't have feeling for them. undecided

It's not their fault my brother, they are trained to kill and to use brute force to settle law and order. No soldier goes to war and comes back sane, except for the ones that have not been to the battle fronts. Also in Nigeria we over-do things and we use them anyhow.
In saner climes, they are not meant to be wearing their uniforms while free mixing with civilians. It's either they are on official duty or just coming from the barracks. Anytime u hear say, dem deploy them for society, know say na state of emergency.

that's no excuse... Because you are trained to kill doesn't mean you harass people any how. You are a soldier to defend the country, but not to harass citizens no matter the provocation. It is called discipline, they lack discipline. I've worked with them, I know what I am saying.
